Sky Bill Credit

So,
I checked my sky bill today (which was generated yesterday) and was shocked to see that it was much higher than normal. After speaking to Customer Services i finally got them to admit that they had over charged me and they agreed to pput a credit onto my account. Howvere they are still expecting me to pay £185 on the 1st December and advised that the credit will apply on my next months bill.
When i asked why this was (as there is still nearly 2 weeks before they call for the money from my account) they said that once a bill has been generated they are unable to change it.
So now i am going to be nearly £80 out of pocket due to their mistake and im fighting a losing battle. They are hiding behind their "once the bill has been issued" excuse, however customers only get to see if they have been charged correctly ONCE the bill has been generated. Very frustrated as my partner was recently made redundant and this is going to impact on xmas.
Also very unfait as if i witheld their money they would disconnect me howevre when its the other way round customers have no rights in their eyes!
Has anyone experienced this problem or can help in any way?

Good post from Hollie84 there, and when they ring, ask for the cancellations dept. They will probably give you a discount for 6 months or so which Im sure you will welcome. People do it every day, And get the discounts..make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If its going to cause issues, contact their complaints dept. Dont cancel your dd as this may cause problems.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Absolute rubbish sar. I have just cancelled my Sky package (long story, really not happy with them) and I'd paid £94 in advance. After about 7 hours worth of phone calls, I finally spoke to someone who put the credit on my account immediately, and I was refunded my money 5 days later. I have to say, I had to basically lose it to get this done immediately, but after 7 hours and £94, plus a further £100 to an outside company who refused to install a dish to my new address, I think I was justified in losing it a bit!
Anyway, get on the phone, tell them your not happy to pay, and if they don't sort your bill you'll be moving to Virgin. They seem to give discounts, offers, and all kinds off goodness when you threaten to leave
if your still in contract, tell them you'll cancel the minute your out if they don't resolve your issue within 3 working days. They should sort it for you, particularly as you have 2 weeks before your due to pay. Good luck. 0
