I cant get a Sony PS3 to work at all on my Sharp Aquos.
I Have 2 scart leads in the back of the tv and when I put my scart from the ps3 into the tv and turn on there is nothing. I select the correct scart from the menu but nothing at all. The unit is on and the leads all correct. I use scart 1 for Sky TV, so when i unplug the scart sky goes off. Then input the scart for the ps3 but nothing??
Im confused any help please.

Not sure about your scart lead problem, but why don't you use a HDMI cable? Is your T.V. too old?
The quality is so much better on HDMI and they only cost about £2. No point in spending any more than that considering its a digital signal.0 -

The TV is HD ready but does not have a HD button on the remote. All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -
Unplug the scarts form PS3,& TV.
Plug HDMI lead into PS3 and an available HDMI slot on TV. It may have more than 1. On ours we have TV/AV selector on remote. If we select AV it gives us a choice of the three.
Switch both on, PS3 will take a little time to boot up, select AVs and then scroll through the HDMI.
This TV has 1080P.
One time my son "mated" these for the first time and the PS3 gave him a choice of resolutions and he selected the best 1080.
We tried it back on an older TV with just 720 and I couldn't get it to recognise the PS3, couldn't see it on the screen anyway.
I had to plug the PS3 back into the 1080 TV, so I could see the PS3 menu, and downgrade it to720. Plugged it back into the old TV - fine.

this is an unfortunate nause of the ps3, having to almost pre-set the hd mode before plugging it in  first time it happened to me I almost threw it out the window before I twigged what was going on
You also have to select hd/analogue mode too if i remember correctly, not just which hd resolution.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

^^ so, the ps3 is connected to the tv by a hdmi lead, and you can see the picture ok, yes ?? Isn't that what you wanted to be able to do, or do you still want to use the scart? if scart, select rgb, confirm, then you'll have to unplug the hdmi from the ps3 and connect to the tv with the scart cable, change the tv input to the correct scart socket, and should be done.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Still not working using the HD cable. However, im up and running on the scart lead now. I seached google for tireless hours and I found that someone said hold the 'on' button on the ps3 for 3 to 5 seconds until you hear a 'bleep'. Bingo the game console came on.
However Still cant get it going just using the HD cable???All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0
