Soba- If you look in your yellow pages you should find soil suppliers under Turf. Phone for prices, if possible with delivery as 1 tonne of soil doesn't go very far when you start spreading it out (it didn't fill a bag that was 1m x 1m x 1m when we got some). Worth going to inspect the soil before buying it to see if it has lots of stones in it and it should break up when you rub it between your fingers (friable) - I'm sure others will have better explanations of good soil. Garden centres/nurseries will sell topsoil bagged but it can work out a lot more expensive, some will even let you bag it yourself (our local charges £2.50 per bag - they supply the bag) but this is back breaking work if you need lots.
If you work out the area of the raised bed and the depth to which you want to fill it suppliers should be able to work out approx how much you need.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0
