Christmas Break -PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone on here might be able to help / or know someone who can.
I would love to be able to get my close family together for Christmas, and am looking for a house with approx 5 bedrooms. (Don't wanna do the X-Factor sob story- but earlier this year was diagnosed with secondary cancer, so wanna make this a good one for my family as a thank you for all of their support.)
Ideally somewhere in Central England, and that doesn't cost too much. I was wondering if somewhere had had a cancellation or if anyone could recommend anywhere?
I'd really appreciate some help!

Hi try ownersdirect for starters. http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/ its a good easy to use site with lots of options and bedrooms etc. How is your mobility or others that needs to be looked at as if your thinking of a cottage in the sticks somewhere maybe then even getting from your car to the doorstap can be a tricky in winters mud. Enjoy xmas and have a great family pow wow whatever you choose. There are other sites like Holidaycottages.uk & cottages4u etc have a play with google etc . Take care .. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

Will defo be cheaper than a house rental PLUS no cooking or washing up.

A lot of people don't think of using Youth Hostels, which is sad because they have excellent facilities. All size rooms from single up to dormitories, a lot of them are en suite. You can do your own food or use their restaurant. Thay have communal areas, lounge, tv room, games room, and they are licensed. I see Stratford on Avon hostel have beds available all over the Christmas period at £10 per person per night. A couple of pounds extra if you are not a member. Worth thinking about. If you had a word with the warden they will put on some Christmas Fayre for you. www.yha.org.uk

PS I use them all the time, I'm off next week for two nights in Derbyshire at £8 per night.I love skip diving.0 -
I've been looking into youth hostels quite a bit recently and they seem to be doing some really good deals at the moment. I've also noticed that they hire out their properties in a 'cottage hire' kind of way via their 'escape-to' website.0
