Reported a bully and now feel bad

    I had to deal with my Ds school re a bullies just before the summer. He is in secondary school though. I understand what you are saying and I told the school that I wanted the group to be helped eg educated that bulling isn't good.
    Maybe you could tell the school that you didn't think their approach was the best for your son's welfare. Also that you are dissappointed re the football could the child be given a time out from it instead. Ask about how they are helping the child to learn that this behaviour is wrong. eg through stories or something. Then maybe you will feel like you have done something and hopefully the next child this happens to won't have to go through the same as your son re being acknowleged in front of the class.
