Blackberry Contract and Iphone.....How ?
Hi ....can anyone help me or has anyone done this ! My son has a Blackberry on Contract with o2, he pays an extra £5 for his blackberry data ( or I do ) !!! lol ! He is only 12 months into a 24 month contract and he is getting an Apple Iphone 4S for Christmas and his birthday...(only days apart ) we bought the Iphone in the Apple shop and he's been told two things he can then do :-
1. Apple shop gave him a micro sim and a web site to go on to swap his number over (www.swapmysim.o2.co.uk) said he'sll be on the same amount of minutes etc
2. o2 website said they will put him on a different contract, but its less minutes and no free o2 to o2 + data for an extra £1 at month
He could have done with more calls though as he's at Uni at minute and lives awa from home.
Not sure what to do - thinking can we cancel the blackberry data with O2 this December and then change over on the swap my sim and add the iphone data for £6 with o2.
Just wanted a few ideas on what i should do before I ring o2.

Get the sim cut down and use it in the new handset on the same tariff. In future don't be signing up for 24 month contracts, there is no such thing as a free phone.0

The tariff has regular data as well as access to the blackberry portal (which is where the blackberry features work from), so all the features of the iphone will still work.0 -
I cut down my daughters blackberry sim to use in an iphone. Works OK but watch your data usage as blackberry data is compressed and she now uses about 10 times more data than before.0

Check the iphone does not have background sync activated, this allows apps and updates whenever and gobbles data.0
