Not good Gromit you should now go to phone pay plus and report the issue as being a premium rate number they can take action, well of course this depends on wether you actually signed up for the service.

I havent been charged for anything its just messages trying to trick me into confirming registration...

Could it be a rival company has added my details to trigger this?

Thus no reply on my part

PhonepayPlus has the following information about the shortcode number 65405.
    Music HQ

This is a text message service charged at premium rate. The types of services operating on this number can be ring tones, jokes, games, tarot, chat, mobile internet services (WAP) and more.
If you would like to find out more about this service or have a question about it you should contact the company that provides this service which is listed below:

    5 September 2008

Basically, Music HQ had purchased a list of mobile numbers from a direct marketing company called Discovery Media Direct where I’d apparently subscribed to something and opted in to my number being sold for marketing purposes.

Music HQ had then “accidentally” sent messages to people from this list instead of their subscribers (who had actually opted in to receiving paid messages, unlike me). When I asked them how many people this had affected, they replied saying something like, “It was a hundred or so but most of those have requested refunds now!”

So on this occasion alone, at least 100 people had received the same message as me, Music HQ had illegally taken £1.50 from their mobile phone bill and then done nothing to try and refund this amount unless the victim of the theft requested it. And I say ‘on this occasion’ because the links I provided in my last post go back to July and September 2007, which seems to suggest this isn’t the first time this has happened, and it probably won’t be the last!
PhonepayPlus are a sham and have in effect been protecting these crooks and the Networks (who pocket 50% of the stolen money) for years.

    **Update** 30/08/07 1127
Orange got Opera Telecom to call me. Ollie from Music HQ who own the shortcode called me to say I would be removed from their databases. I explained about my sim card sitting in a drawer and he asked me how long I had the phone number (I have had it about 10 years) he said I subscribed on an incoming text on 01/05/2004 to a competition - I explained that I didn't text competitions and he agreed to send me a refund for all three messages £4.50 asked for my address and name to send the cheque to. He was very pleasent and apologised for the messages, also that 3 were sent due to a system error instead of two
    same fraud and same excuses
