Hi, i have just had a quote to have GCH installed in my 1st floor flat. We actually own the building and are having the downstairs converted into a 2nd flat. Upstairs - i already have the radiators (not installed) and already have a hot water tank, cold water tank in the loft, immersion heater etc. So can anyone advise how much work is rquired to fully install the boiler, rads etc?

2nd question - as we have 2 flats in the building natiolnal grid are saying that we need to pay for two seperate connections - cant have 1 that goes into two so are charging me 2 x £650? is that right?

Thank you

Depends on the type of boiler-combi or conventional? I'm assuming conventional.

But how can you have a quote if you didn't specify the type of boiler required? It's the fundamental choice when picking a boiler/CH system.
What make/model of boiler does your received quote specify then?

so what does the quote say?

Assuming you are intending to convert and register as a seperate property (council tax?) - yes.

You've lost me you asked whether you had to pay the £650 twice and the last post answered if you intend to seperate it into two properties for council tax then the answer is yes but you didn't want that answer. What was the question again?

lets start again - i wanted a gas connection to the building so i can GCH in both flats. even though it is 1 building but 2 flats they said i need 2 new connections - so my question is - is that right, if so why? My mother in law lives in a house on the same site and she has the house and an annexe - 2 seperate boilers, 2 seperate systems - 1 connexion - and 2 council taxes. thats what confused me and hence my question - why are they charging me twice if they need to dig only 1 time etc....

2nd question - what do i need once the connection to the 1st flat (already fully converted)is made. I already bought radiators, i have a hot water boiler, cold water tank in the loft etc...

Hope thats a bit clearer now?

    thanks

No, because you haven't answered the cold water question which is necessary to give advice.
