My own Mum has suddenly taken "Taken a funny turn" in the last month that they're reluctant to rush diagnosing. They've ruled out a stroke, toyed with both a water-infection induced delirium and a stress-related manic episode. Whatever, she's now in a psychiatric unit and very confused. Looks like being a long haul....
Take care of yourself too XXXX
Sorry to here about your mother GB hugs and kisses XXX to you and your mother I hope that she gets better soon
no problems with Alice tonight we both went to bed early because we where both tired and she is sleeping like a log
but guess what I had to get up because I couldn't sleep :rotfl:0 -
Hi Amilucky ((big hugs to you)) :kisses3: you're doing a fantastic job and Alice must really love you and appreciate you for how much you care for her when she is having a good day. I know from what you've said in the past how hard it is for both you & Alice like when you had to let the dog go, but you really must give yourself (if possible) more respite too so that you can be stronger for your dear wife. Don't feel guilty about going to China, you really need a break too and I'm sure Alice will want you to go too. It's good that you've got some family to support you. We're here if you need to talk xx
When I worked on the ward I cared for a lovely old dear who had alzeimers and once while I was bathing her and we were chatting as normal and laughing, she suddenly started screaming that I ws trying to kill her to steal her house which was very embarrassingLuckily another member of staff was there too with us and everyone knew what it was like...one minute fine and the next the poor lady wouldn't know who, where or what she was. Take care of yourself too Amilucky xx
Sheils, well done on your coffee machine win! :j I love that game, even the kids play it! Sooo glad your sons are home for xmas too :TBig thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
I'm keeping up with the tassimo comp, but I'm not getting any better at it! Wingobins that must have been unsettling for you with the old lass. My partner is looking after her poorly Grandma right now, they end up getting up at 2am to take her into hospital most nights when she is at home. Oh dear, I just wish we could do something for all the people that are poorly right now.
On a happier note, I think I have found my perfect rescue dog! The only snag is that she is a good long way away, and she has a heart problem they have just found out, but I am speaking with the lovely lady who runs the dog shelter tomorrow so fingers crossed that we can work something out and might be able to bring her home soon! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high though, just in case, but I really want her0 -
Morning all, tired today. Didn't get to sleep until 1ish and was wide awake at 6 as OH has to go down to London today for his eye appointment so three hours travelling there and 3 hours travelling back for him on train today but it is worth it because he is under the best eye hospital in UK as far as we are concerned.£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120
