Worst case scenario if the claim is sucecssful - paypal take £15 out of your refund (I don't think they will)

IF they do - that's what your credit card providers are for. They'll help get your money back.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • The other side of the coin has happened to me. I sent something that the buyer is saying has not turned up. She started a item not received dispute but I have proof of postage and she did not request insurance. The item was £12 and the post office have no trace of it - sent ordinary post and they offer only 68p compensation!!! I have had to tell the buyer that I cannot be responsible for the item lost in the post but she is obviously not happy. I have refunded people before for smaller amounts and the other day someone told me the item had been broken and I refunded but you never really know if you have been scammed. It did not improve my mood to have the dispute.

if you have proof of posting you can get up to £32 compensation

68p is the cost of adding recorded delivery to 1st and 2nd class standard
  • Sellers are responsible for ensuring that goods reach their buyers safely, and retaining proof of posting in case they need to claim from RM. Unfortunately if you don't have POP you still owe the customer a refund unless you have proof of delivery, but you've almost certainly lost your money if you have no POP.
It's a pain. I'm still waiting for refunds from RM for items lost in the pre-Christmas post, for which I've had to refund customers in the meantime.
