There`s a link on their site to click on and pay the tax.
If you don`t pay you don`t fly.

    But don`t blame the airlines
it`s that money grubbing tax obsessed G.Brown.
Don`t forget him at the next election and kick him out.

yeah but what about the airlines who are swallowing the cost themselves, likes of BA, easyjet albeit cheap are passing this tax on

If you have your e-ticket already, can they bar you from boarding the plane? Can you just go to the airport and pay there at the check-in if they remember to ask you for it?
Nothing in the terms of the sale when the ticket was bought says something like 'if taxes go up you might have to pay us more later'.

I paid in September to fly to Paris with Easyjet in February. It said at the bottom of the email they sent me re payment of increased airport tax

Important Note: when you booked your flight the terms and conditions you accepted did state that if taxes and charges outside of our control were raised before your flight departed, we would have to pass on the cost to you. Failure to make the additional APD payment may result in you not being allowed to take your flight

So it must be part of their T&Cs

Thanks Tilly. How did you pay? If you click on the link in their website do they tell you the exact amount due from you or do you have to work it out?

Mine was an extra £10 for two of us.
Not sure from what date additional charge would have already been included in the ticket costs. I got email from Easyjet on the 29th December.
I originall paid cc and paid the £10 by cc too, there was not additional cc charge for this thankfully.

I did not notice anybody laying any blame. Why such an overtly politcal response ?
Who gets the blame when the planet self-destructs ?

When mentioning self-destruction, why not start with the military and government. Around the many MoD and RAF bases in my area I don't see any solar heating panels and on the news I do not see any government leaders travelling regularly or whenever possible on greener transport (other than for a photo op). The vast majority of military and government vehicles are mostly used in non-combat environments and under non-urgent conditions. But, paradoxically, much of the taxes including airport taxes raised will probably be used for wasteful means of transporting around people who are happy to exploit their rank and positions for purposes of comfort and convenience at the expense of the environment and the rest of us.

This EXTRA £5 has nothing whatsoever to do with the government worrying about climate change.
This is a pure and simple easy tax grab.

Will the extra £5 stop people flying
    NO
So how can they justify it.
    Tax Tax Tax
that`s all Brown can think of.

BA might well absorb the increase
the amount it charges for it`s tickets in the first place.
Micheal O`Leary`s doing a great job.
