"(Police) can be called on to attend to prevent a "breach of the peace" but (and I think a poster on here confirmed this some time back) they would rather not be involved."
An assistance nonetheless, few evictees will stop to ask their(the police) role in an eviction during the course of one...0 -
Hi,
Just a quick update......my sister still says she isn't in arrears and can't understand why they've suddenly decided to do this. However, she has spoken to the estate agent who let the house in the first place who said the landlord has done this several times in the past!! My sister has decided to just find somewhere else as I'm guessing she'll have to move soon enough anyway!
Thanks for the help though. Sorry on the vagueness of it but I gave as much info as I had!!Debt at 23/01/2007

I hope your sister finds somewhere better. She needs to get this rent arrears issue cleared up though or the landlord will deduct it from her deposit. Does the agent collect the rent or does it go straight to the landlord? Has your sister told the agent she is up to date with the payments, best to put this in writing to both agent and landlord in case there is a dispute later...0 -

The agent should have a moral obligation not to rent houses of landlords like this. Don't deal with this agent again.0
