Dear MSEers.
I am changing my broadband provider, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a cheap, or even free, dial up provider in case the change-over goes wrong. I will still need to access my emails, etc.
Thanks.

if you have a laptop go to the nearest macdonalds or coffee house and borrow their wi fi0

not sure how cost effective this is but I used this when moving into a new house and the internet was not yet setup: http://www.adial.co.uk/
However my new laptop has no dial-up modem - so an alternative is to use a 3g usb dongle and surf with that
(or use wi-fi/free internet - even if you don't have a laptop you should be able to use a library computer for a while)0 -
Even Tesco offering free WiFi now .

Great ideas folks... but nearest McDonalds and Tescos are over 30 miles away .
Hopefully the changeover will be seamless though and I wont need a back-up plan.0 -
Why not buy a mobile broadband dongle on pay as you go, that's what I did while I was waiting for my broadband to be hooked up.0

Yep, best option is to get a mobile dongle. You can get them from most PC stores and even places like Tesco, ASDA etc. Some internet providers will give you these free of charge whilst the transfer is going on, so it's worth contacting your new supplier. Please help to make people Endometriosis aware!
:T Expecting my first LO on July 12th; words fail to describe how grateful we are for this gift :T0 -
you can use most mobiles as a dialup modem if you have a usb cable to hook it up to. If my broadband goes down this is what I do and being on the three network getting a data allowance with each top up its free0
