I was assured that the items just had RROD and had never been opened, but when I took it home I noticed inside the capactiors were broken and parts of the board physically melted and googling it the only way this happens is when someone attemps to fix Xbox by putting it in oven and doesnt insulate it right.

    !

Maybe they put it on the hob and the 'red ring' killed it.

What is RROD? Intrigued as I have read this on other threads too.

it's where your 360 is buggered and just gives you a 'red ring' around the power button. Think it's caused by overheating from being badly designed.

OP,in your initial post if you had simply explained ,without the RROD jargon, and explained in the first post (i wonder why you didn't) that they had said it had been tested,it would have been a lot simpler....why is there no rolleyes post when you want one.
So,they sold you an item they said had been tested,it hadn't.Find out the name of the Manager,go in,ask to see the paperwork relating to the test.Demand a refund, speak to head office (I think it may be a franchise though) or speak to consumer direct.

Are you sure you chose your words carefully there?

But a wizzkid Xbox repairer like yourself would obviously know that the first thing you look at is the anti-tamper tag right??

This would be the very first giveaway, without the tag intact, someone has been inside it already.

It was sold as faulty, it is faulty, it can be repaired, you just tried your luck and got bit.

What did the paperwork with it say? Faulty or RROD/Powers up?

Gong to Court for £9.99, the Law this, the Law that !!!!!!. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Some people are simply ridiculous, they will probably give you a refund if you pester just to get rid of you, after all, it is only £9.99 so hardly worth arguing about....... unless you are ThumbRemote or the OP :rotfl:

The OP hasn't mentioned anything about court. The unit is not repairable and the pawn shop misdescribed the goods.

Of course it's repairable, you can change the mainboard.
It's a fair guess even this OP didn't buy a molten glob of plastic.

    Thank you gypsy.

How did you get that word past the filter when the word !!!! doesn't? :p Yours is much worse than mine. I was about to post on the wording but someone beat me to it, LOL, although why they highlighted 'power button as well I do not know. Thanks for making me smile on a dull Friday morning. :D
