    heat output:-

Nominal Heat Output Wood 5.7 kW Solid Fuel 4.2 kW

    v's

Nominal Heat Output 4.7 kW (Wood & Solid Fuel)

slight variation in size and weight o and refuel times differ slightly.
  • I don't see how solid fuel can have a lower kw than wood.....
  • thank you alleycat....but i'm still confused..... both models are listed as multifuel - which one did you think had higher woodburning heat output please? thank you

    Sorry my fault.
The classic is 4.7kw across the board.

The little wenlock (original?) is the one with the mixed ratings based on fuel type.

The ratings / weights, etc come from agas own website under technical information for each stove type.

I'm just reporting what it says :)
  • Coco, Could you provide the links to the info you're looking at for the different models?

I have a little wenlocke, not sure if it's a classic or not.

I THINK (but not sure at all), that there's a new model LW which has a secondary air input. Mine just has one. I THINK the new model meets some regs the older model doesn't (like possibly burning smokey fuel in smoke control areas, but not sure.

I recall looking at the info of a LW with a secondary air supply and the impression I got then was that it would cut down the heat output a little (due to the secondary airflow cooling the top of the stove). It was all a while ago, so don't treat this as gospel.
  • I have just had the little wenlock installed & I have had to have air vents fitted in both the room it is in & the conservatory, had I bought the classic model I would not have had to fit the vents, something to do with the wenlock classic is less than 5kw output & the little wenlock is 5.7kw.
