TBF you never said that when it was a fall last month.
If you accept one months, you really have to accept the next month also.

So in reality the last two months have equaled fairly flat.

And you are not saying anything you said last month when it fell either.

What, I never said last months data was wrong/incorrect etc????

I agreed with what they said last month and this? What do you want me to say?

I said last month october is colder than sept, and according to my car temp, and face when cycling seemed to be true?
I also so said that if it was down to weather last month it was likely to rise the following month (this month).

    Look what happened....?

So not sure what you are getting at GD, not sure you know either. Simple fact is I disagreed with the fact people were saying it was all down to the economy and the weather had little to do with it.
The truth is economic outlook is most probably worse and it is up, so I think I will stick with the fact the weather has an effect and the reasons given for falls and rises are in the main credible.

I have been posting about this for months now - in my experience, there is no longer any crisis in anyones head - except for the saddos on HPC!

I cannot get any discounts (even when buying a £340 pair of Binoculars for heavens sake!).

I have witnessed people spending like it's the last day on earth - they are just getting on enjoying life.

Property around here is the very same, people fed up waiting and wondering and putting lives on hold - they are out there buying houses (indeed, snapping them up FAST!).

Because life is about living, not renting and scrimping ...... get out there folks, there's a party feel to things, it's warm and sunny and everyone has money to spend - so SPEND!

Since when has the ONS properly collected statistics?

They did alright last month on the same survey apparently.;):)

Odd that the people making out last months fall was correct and down to the economy are discrediting the data source this month?

Another case of survey tennis, hit it away when it does not suit. :)

    To add,

    From last month's coat gate.

The main disagreement seems to be based on people wan't the reason for falling to fit in with a VI, but there is very good data to back it up as delayed spending.

Any kind of weather related change will either be brought forward, or in this case delayed spending.

So if they are blaming the weather they should be forecasting next month to be better as the delayed buying is added to that month.

    I thank you. :)

Sorry MrRee, I did call you Mervyn King on a different thread yesterday.

Now I'm not sure if you are George Osbourne or David Icke.

Merv downgrades yesterdays UK growth figures. He also 'thinks' inflation will fall back but pins his hopes that the seas will be calm for the next 6 months or year(fat chance!) UK unemployment keeps rising. The cost of living is going up and up. The UK could double dip.The Euro is in crisis. We still haven't recovered from the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression.

Is all that in peoples heads? Come on try and dismiss all that. I could do with a laugh

I see he has logged off. I wonder which moniker he is now logged on under? Either that or computer time at the nut house has finished for the day

Open your eyes and look around - that's all you need to do.

SOLD signs all over the place, no discounts in shops, shoppers buying in a frenzy ..... this is what happens here in the South.

Obviously, up North it may be tougher?

But reports are that everyone is spending - it's looking great here!
