Ryanair Booking fee SORTED

Hi, I recently found a way of beating Ryanair Admin charges and submitted it to MSE and Ryanair responded see following from MSE:

"Eagle-eyed MoneySavers may have spotted that if you book flights via travel broker Travel Republic, you avoid Ryanair's fees (though you do pay Travel Republic's own £1-£2ish card fee). It's cheaper than booking direct at Ryanair with a normal card.

The big catch is Ryanair says: "Ryanair does not authorise any other websites to sell its flights. Ryanair reserves the right to cancel any bookings made other than directly through Ryanair.com." So there is a risk; better to stick to Ryanair's rules"

DON'T BE FOOLED WITH RYANAIRS BULLYING COMMENTS read below:

I would point out that Travel Republic is not selling Ryanair flight tickets, they are only acting as agents and booking the flights directly with Ryanair on behalf of the person requesting them to act for them, see an extract from Travel Republics terms and conditions:

"If your booking is with an airline listed in Appendix 1 you are the principal and you are authorising us to act as your agent in arranging that booking." Ryanair is one of the low cost airlines listed in Appendix 1.

So no breech of Ryanairs rules, therefore no risk of Ryanair cancelling any booking, just another big bully threat from them. I can only assume that Travel Republic have access to The Ryanair Cash Passport and use this whilst acting as agents on behalf of persons asking them to do so, therefore saving a Ryanair card booking fee for a family of 4 some £48 for a return flight and all the hassle and costs associated with obtaining a Ryanair Cash Passport.

I do believe that Travel Republic is not the only agents / brokers offering this facility.

I just tried Travel Republic. It doesn't list London Stansted as an option, so I tried London All Airports. It only came up with low cost options from Luton, and none from Stansted for the destination I tried even though that route is bookable through the Ryanair website.

I'd be a bit wary that if people start using Travel Republic, Ryanair will cancel all the bookings. I wouldn't put anything past them, despite the wording of their rules.

Is anything happening to stop Ryanair getting away with their Ryanair Cash Passport thing? It says on their front page "£9.99" with the caveat "fares don't include optional fees/charges". It is impossible to book £9.99 flights on their website today, unless one had applied for their Ryanair cash passport in advance, uploaded £150, met the T&Cs etc.

Looks as though Travel Republic has been got at by Ryanair, they have taken down all Ryanair airports from the drop down menu. That is the worst of letting everyone on MSE have the info. After checking it looks as though other booking agents are still offering this service. PM for further info.

Ryanair flights are bookable with https://www.lowcostholidays.com too.

CC fee 2.5% debit card fee 1.25%
  • Ryanair have now introduced a security page when checking for flights with this on page: You do not have permission to access this website if you are using an automated program. I take it this is an attempt to stop travel companies making proxy bookings. What an inconvenience to people making bookings!!!! anyone else experienced this?

This is hardly earth shattering NEWS.

It was mentioned here last March:

    and again last June:

Ryanair flights are bookable with www.lowcostholidays.com too.

This might now mean, WERE bookable.

I just went to the Ryanair site, via their new security check, put in my dates for a return trip and got the price of £45-98.

I put the same info into lowcost but it didn`t have anything for my dates.
So maybe they`ve been "got at" too.
  • I have just checked other sites that were providing this and get same results "Sold Out" 1 up to Ryanair I take it.
  • UPDATE: Travel Republic and others are now offering Ryanair again but it seems as though a £10 booking fee is being charged (still a lot cheaper than Ryanair £48 for a family of 4) and the Security Code has been removed. I take it the booking must have fallen whilst this check was in place.

I have just booked Ryanair flights via Travel Republic. BEWARE. You will not realise that the additional Rynair admin fee has been deducted from your account until you receive the confirmation email from Travel Republic. The payment total does not include the admin fee and it is not clear that this will also be deducted from your account. I have spoken to customer services who said this is a common complaint and advised me to email their customer relations department. Apparently the staff are sick of having to deal with this complaint and the apparent attempt to mislead customers by their own company! I will post the reply from Travel Republic when I receive it. My advice is, if you have to book with Ryanair, do it directly. You will at least save the additional £1.00 commission fee that Travel Republic charge! Unfortunately there is no way you can avoid the admin fee.
