Can I stop calls to mobiles when I use 18185

I have an Orchid dialler, routing calls to 18185.

Is it possible to bar calls to mobiles through bt

Thanks

Is it an Orchid V2 or V4?
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • I set up my dialler to use 18185 to dial mobile numbers - had to do it manually though.

But surely you can override the dialer by dialing 1280 an put call through BT.

And who would want to override it when 18185 is cheaper?

And so, if the OP's Orchid is programmed to prefix calls to mobiles with 18185, why would he/she need to bar calls to mobiles via BT?

    Exactly my point!
  • I just want to make sure my daughter can't ring mobiles from the landline, as my calls are routed through the dialler (not sure of the model, but it is an old one)

If I pay to have BT bar calls to mobiles will they still go through the dialler or will I have to meddle with that also

I don't think BT offer a way to bar calls to mobiles without also barring national and international calls. See HERE.

However, if all your calls get a 18185 prefix from the Orchid, she'll still be able to call mobiles via 18185 (5p connection and 6p/minute weekdays [2p/minute weekends]).

Thats my problem, I want to bar calls to mobiles altogether as even using 18185 she's run up over £12 this month, I know it doesn't sound a lot ,but we are on a very tight budget and the bill is usually under £3

I can't see a way of doing it without giving up the orchid dialler
