Costco, 5 litres, sorry, I can't remember how much it cost, it lasts me ages! People recommend Asian supermarkets for it too.pollywiggle wrote: »Can anyone let me know where you can buy white vinegar in bulk? Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Tumble drying is definitely the way to go for softness, just make sure you don't overdry!
Conditioner is not a good idea for towels as they do not absorb as well afterwards.
Currys and other places sell Ecozone Dryerballs which keep your clothes soft naturally, without the need for fabric softeners. They are not only environmentally friendly but non toxic and allergy free, so great for those with eczema or delicate skin. I started using them after seeing mould spores growing in the conditioner dispenser of my machine!
As a matter of interest, I also noticed that Which, when reviewing washing machine powders/liquids/gels only recommend washing powders, saying that no gel or liquid meets a high enough standard.
Wishing you all a happy washday!0 -
Soda crystals are used for many things, and can be used for washing and drains/plugholes. I put a cupful in my machine and run a high temperature wash once a month, keeps your machine smelling sweet.Ah, yes, sorry - I didn't know it was possible to get soda crystals specifically for washing. I was referring to the bog standard soda crystals used to clear drains/plugholes0 -
I really like the persil gel capsules, they seem to rinse out well and clothes are pretty soft.
I don't use fabric softener, it's a bit of a con really as it just coats everything in oil to make it feel smoother.
As for soda crystals in the washing machine and on clothes, you should be fine, soda crystals are 100% sodium carbonate which is one of the most common ingredients in washing powders.0
