It's castor oil that is supposed to start contractions....cod liver oil would just make sure your joints were supple.
I was advised to try pineapple when I had my DD......just made my gums bleedIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

wokkies wrote:oh yes dont know why i put cod liver oil then, lol, but castor oil does taste gross as well:rotfl:
It does.
I tried it when I was a week overdue with my DD - had contractions all night, then they stopped and she came out of her own accord a 5 days later.
She's still stubborn now, and still does everything in her own sweet time.Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

I'll try and put this a delicatley as possible...(bearing in mind I went over 10 days with my first and 8 with my second!) go and have s**g with hubby. Midwives informed me this was the one and only thing that gets things going! (nudge nudge, wink, wink!)
Good luck,

RIGHT THAT'S IT. I've had enough and have formulated a plan of attack featuring as many of the things that might get things moving again as possible. MIL keeps telling me that housework brings on labour today I am going to do/have done so have added loads of household jobs onto the list but here's what I've done/going to do so far...
- Done a load of washing and put everything on the radiators.
- Cleaned the bathroom from top to bottom
- Cleaned and hoovered the car inside and out (With Ste's help of course..)
- Picked up all the rubbish from the garden
- Told Ste that we're having an indian tonight and I'm ordering something hotter than my usual chicken korma (and we're walking to the indian!)
- Emptied Ashli's nappy bin and done loads of washing up
- Going to take out the recycling
- Going to Hoover upstairs and downstairs
- Also Pre-warned Steve that if I'm feeling REALLY desperate that we'll have sex later.. LMAO.
- Going to have a hot bath later
- I also plan on spending as much time this evening on my birthing ball as possible!!!
If anyone else can think of anything that I could do that won't kill my off completely or drive me insane I'd appreciate it I've been told that Castor oil just makes you very ill and that you'd have to eat the equivalent of 10 pineapples for that to work so will be avoiding those! lol! ... Also does anyone have any recommendations for a spicy indian meal for someone who normally can't handle anything hotter than a Korma??? LOLTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

keep bouncing on that birthing ball, I had one of them when had just been induced then went for a long walk round the hospital grounds, lol then virtually crawled upstairs to my bed to tell a midwife to get in my room quick cos i was gunna push, then they told me to bounce for a bit more on the ball, it seems to work though the birthing ball, anyway hope it all goes well and you have your little girl soonto be updated:;)0

Chicken Tikka Masala is nice and not too hot. I really feel for you right now, I had 3 sweeps and tried almost everything bar the pineapple and castor oil (not recommended and dangerous to baby) in the end I was induced and he popped out an hour after my waters broke. I know that our stories aren't really helpful to you right now but unfortunately if she's not ready to come out nothing is likely to work.
Just have a great evening, I fancy an Indian takeaway myself now!Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0 -
My Mum's friend was all into 'natural remedies' and used garlic to get rid of thrush (sorry) and apparently she put a bulb of it up the baby chute and she got really strong contractions and was told to take it out immediately!
Worth a try, worse caase scenerio is Kailyn will love Italian cuisine, lol
