  • Hi all,

Hope everyone is debt busting away! :D

As it’s (finally) payday, I’ve made another payment to my Barclaycard of £250! :)

I also noticed that every month, as a minimum, I pay £163 towards my debt – so this month I’ve already paid £413 making my total………

    £609.32/£22,922.39 (or 2.66%)

Have a great rest of the day (considering the weather is dire!)

    Hellooooooooooooooo DF by Xmas'ers

Well been down the bank and cancelled my advantage account with the very nice young man in my branch. Told him that im trying to pay off my overdraft slowly and get back to spending my own money instead of theirs :rotfl: asked as a side note what is my overdraft limit, he said £2500    and its been like that for over a year! I thought it was £1100 :rotfl: thank goodness I did think that or just imagine what a mess I would be in   well I brought it down to £1500 and then asked my balance (you'd have thought id do that first ) which is £447 :j :j thats the lowest its been in over 2 years :D so when Dh's wages go in next week I am going to take it down to £1000 and then £800 after christmas, start taking away the temptation :o

On the way home I realised that I must pay them about 8 - 9% interest A month!! for using my overdraft!! a real eye opener to make me clear it once and for all

  • Hi all,

Two days off work for me, and now that I've had my broadband upgraded (free from work :money:) I intend to spend the day sorting out things to put on ebay in the new year.

Not far off my first paypal pay out on SB. Everyone in my family has birthdays in the 2nd half of the year, so I'm not going to get amazon vouchers as I'd end up spending them on myself! Going to get paypal pay outs and then use them to pay any ebay fees etc

So glad you introduced me to SB Jakes-Mum...all my other survey sites appear to be in a drought!
Deleting everything to make sure MoneySupermarket don't get any of my personal details to sell to following Martin's sell out move :money:
  • Morning all:wave:! Hope you're all feeling much better than me. I had WAY too much red wine last night and I am totally paying for it today_pale_. Was out with my flatmate cos the boy from work cancelled dinner (he's off sick) and I think we had 3 bottles of wine between us, and I hadn't eaten. Soo not a good plan. Also not very MSE when we could have just had wine in the flat.

Does it work out about the same SB cost? I know that $5 is about £3.

I've just been to go and give blood and they wouldn't let me :( really disappointed. All because my thyroid had early stages of cancer 2 years ago, but I've been given the all clear now. Will send the OH to go and give blood instead, at least one of us can save a life this christmas.

  • Kerri, I know they are changing the regulations on giving blood slowly, maybe it'll be a possibility in the future? You know, at least you had the idea and tried though! A lot more than most people do. I've given 10 times now, I'd give more but I couldn't go for a bit as I'd been to certain countries and my iron count has been a bit dodge. Have an appointment booked for Jan though :) When MrS was in hospital the other week with a possibility of a transfusion, I did make sure to point out that it's a good job some of us give blood otherwise there wouldn't be any for him to have! :rotfl: not sure he appreciated the sentiment at the time!

  • Hello everyone! Had my staff night out last night, v happy to have £20 in my christmas card from work so will be putting that straight off my cc. I didnt spend any money other than the food and diesel to get there, work paid for the drinks and i wore an outfit i had anyway. I have also told family to give me money instead of a present so that will also be going on my debt, I will just have to make do with my old clothes over next year! I have transfered money from a 0% credit card onto my overdraft so have now got rid of my overdraft and switched my account over to a basic no fee current account :) Im happy to pay off debt by next xmas, my biggest problem is my boyfriend who is forever trying to tempt me into spending our money on takeaways etc haha!! The debt i have is a joint debt, and my bf is hopeless with money so im the one who does all the budgeting and bills, i dread to think how our situation would have been if he was to sort out the money!!

Thanks psychopathbabble, I've just found a blood session on wednesday that the OH can trundle off to. This time of year is the worst for needing transfusions and I feel really bad that I can't help. I'm O+ so I have universal blood. But then again I wouldn't want anyone to have cancer or take the 4 pills a day that I take. I must rattle if you shake me :p

Anyway... works xmas party tonight, free booze :D free buffet :D and my colleague and I are currently taking the mickey out of the IT guys who never wear suits and look really strange in them today

I cant give blood either as I have had 2 blood transfusions, I know how bad you feel. I really want to as well.
