So can I, but surely that's only because of the 'personality' we've assigned to the animals we've chosen as pet's. Ultimately, if someone is happy to eat meat, I think it's difficult for them to honestly argue against this using any kind of morality.

Or even if they're a veggie but feed their pets meat.

If you have cats, you HAVE to feed them meat, they are complete carnivores. I think you are pushing the point somewhat there, or are you saying that vegetarians can't keep pets?

I've heard many comments over the years of me being a veggie, but that is a new one on me!

Even if this is a wind up, its just a fact that different cultures place different value on different animals.

To us, cats dogs and rabbits are fluffy loveable pets and family members while cows and pigs and poultry are food.

In other cultures, different animals are domesticated, different ones are eaten. Was it Heston Blumenthal who said recently that it was hypocritical of us to keep pigs the way we do for food as they are intelligent social animals, just like dogs?

I meant having an objection to cats/dogs being used for meat if you're happy for other animals to be used for meat. Whether for yourself or your pet.

I have read the page and it does not look like the cats or dogs are used for meat.

The FAQ says "Do you really use real cat meat? Yes, all of our products are made with 100% premium free range cat meat."
  • It's probably an animal rights/pro veg*an site set up to argue 'why is it OK to eat baby sheep and cows but not puppies or cats?'.

    Don't lose sleep over it.

Of course it's a wind up - look at the recipe page..

Yes, they also seem to confuse dog and cat meat in some parts. There's a link to PuppyBeef.com which looks basically the same, they obviously didn't check to carefully when copying from it :)

    Clearly a spoof site...
