But anyway, that would have been pushing the budget and we have one now which is higher spec. Drove home fine today. Perfectly competent at 75ish on the motorway and quite fun to throw around country rounds. Did seem a bit hesitant at low revs (<1500) round town, I presume this is just what turbodiesels do, before the turbo kicks in? Never really driven one before.

That's about par for the course with most turbo diesels Rev, not much below 1300-1500 and above that they respond very nicely.

Yep exactly, especially with a small diesel engine but you quickly learn to drive accordingly
