I'm deeply suspicious. He's really saying its just been sat around somewhere for 5 years?!

I know Pandas used to be available new for about £5k but I don't think they are anymore...

Put a deposit down this afternoon. Agreed on £3900, including new rear tyres. I muttered something about the front tracking and he said he'd get his tyre man to check that too.

Well I picked it up yesterday - seems fine. In the wallet I found actual receipts for services so I know exactly what's been done, and paperwork for, as strider puts it, quadraspaz paint protection, amongst everything else.

The garage its been serviced at is just some small independent place that happens to be a Citroen Specialist with good things said about it online. Someone has actually underlined the bit in the service book that says you can service it at an independent and keep the warranty intact.

Driving it 80 miles back home later today.

Tracking was fine apparently - he suggested the tyre wear may have been caused by it being out at some point then aligned since. Anyway I have 2 new back tyres and almost new fronts.
