They aren't very large files are they?
I seem to recall there is a 512Mb limit

You can create them bigger than 512 but not open them again

It was sent to me as an email attachment

    The message I get is

Word experienced an error trying to open the file
    Try these suggestions
*Check the file permisions for the document or drive
*Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space
*Open the file with the Text Recovery converter
  • Have you tried saving it as another filename, and deleting the 'x' off the 'docx' and seeing if it will open then?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

I dont have an option to "save as"

All I can think of doing is going to my friends house and using her computer, so see if it is a problem with my computer

When you get the email, save the document. Then click on the document and copy and paste a copy. Then click on 'rename file' and rename it something.doc. Then try opening it.

I am using googlemail (not sure if that makes a difference) and if I as much as hover over the name then the file opens. If I click on it then it opens. But thanks for trying to help.
  • Do you want to send it to me and I'll sort it for you?
