How Do I Find Out Who Owns The Domain For My Website?
Comments
-
I am afraid it looks like your URL has been snaffled by someone else.
Do you have a copy of the website? IE all the pages etc for loading again?
You can try contacting the holder via the info from Whois, but they will probably want $$ for it.
I would be looking to grab the .co.uk domain at least from another route.0 -
I don't think it has been taken by somebody else. To me, it looks like whoever did your website is no longer paying for the hosting, therefore the registrar is directing the URL to a standard page.
You need to contact the email address given in the above whois record or contact Enom direct. They should be able to clarify the situation for you. Alternatively, you could use domaintools to check the whois history of the domain to see exactly what has happened to it, but that is a paid-for service.
You may well be able to recover the domain name, but unless you have a backup of the site I would consider the content gone.0 -
My cousin my have a back up of the website. I know someone else has not stolen my site, I dont see why they would really and the .co.uk site I actually owned it but I could not get international orders thats why I SWITCHED TO .COM. Its a crazy history, The first site I made it, people didnt like it. Then this guy Robert made it a little better, People still did not like the site- So my cousin created it again. I thought he took all the details and switched the domain under his website. All i want is my site back up and running again. Enom do not even reply to my e-mails. i will attempt to ring them tonight.0

wHATS HAPPENED IS THE DOMAIN needs to be paid for, It was due three days ago. The guy who bought it on my behalf has jetted off to America. And I have no contact with him.0
-
I really was not aware of that, Does it mean I have lost my site if I do not get any contact from this man?0
-
I pray it can be resolved, I will keep you all updated. Thank you0

Someone has grabbed it and parked the domain so I'm afraid you have lost it unless they are willing to sell it too you, but in my experience, they will ask way to much compared to what the domain is worth.
No they haven't lost it, especially if it is a business. They can apply to the registrar to have it returned and ultimately appeal to ICANN who don't look favourably on domain squatters.

I doubt the company will respond (not ICANN), their service is to keep their clients details anonymous.... not the sort of thing they are going to want to break because someone emails them.
You also said the domain name had expired? When was this? It is very possible that the current owners are just one of these companies that buys up recently expired domains in the hope to make money from their residual traffic.
Do you own a registered trademark on the name? Do you have a company registered in the name?0 -
wow, many questions! yes my company is registered, yes registered trademark...
OK, I called Enom. They say my details are the "counter" owner so they can put my site back up and transfer the site in my name.
I have to pay a fee, but it should be back next week the latest.
thank you all0 -
ah I didn't see your last post so my comment was irrelvant to a certian extent but if you#re a UK company why not register the UK domain name too? But I'm glad it has been resolved0
