How Do I Find Out Who Owns The Domain For My Website?

The person who created my website last year, I'm not in contact with him anymore. And have no clue on how to find him.

The domain has expired. How do I find out who owns the domain?

Use that and see what details are returned.

Hi

Use one of teh online whois services - just google whois and you will get a list. Nominet is a good one. This will then give you all the details about your domain etc.

What happens when you try to connect to the website? Does it come up with a holding page with the name of the new owner or does it simply come up with a not found message. If it is the latter, you can just register the domain yourself or add web hosting as well and set up your own website.

If it is a .co.uk address you could also enter your domain name into the Whois lookup section at http://www.nic.uk/ to see who it is registered to.

Hi, I was going to transfer my domain to another company but I cancelled it do you feel it has still gone through?
Also the guy that created the site, I just found out has emigrated to America! I tracked him down on facebook, But there has been no response after 3 days.
Can I just lose my website like this? after all my years of promoting it? the monies I paid to get it created?

I really need my website back up and running.

I am missing out on many orders
