  • These intensive driving coarses, i recently looked into these for my niece and im prety sure you still need to have passed the theory part of the test first and these can take a few weeks to get a test for anyhow.

These things haven't existed since the 70's. You're dad used to talk about them and you've heard the phrase on TV, but they certainly don't exist nowadays. You may work in the same sector all your life, but there is no such thing as a job for life.

I did say career not job
  • Is there any way your parents could help you out with these costs, and you can set up a standing order to repay them? It might be your only option.

My OP says I have no living relatives!

No the one local to me includes theory and practical.
  • Since talking with my line manager at work she has advised me to join the credit union, which I have emailled and they have sent me an application and said on joining they can give me a £2000 loan, monies to be paid from wage and in event of leaving the nhs trust I can still get the deductions straight from my wage!

    Credit union is good advice.

As for the rest, if your new career was in the demand you think, you'd have a job now, not waiting for some possibly empty promise in Feb.

Sounds like you are caught up in the excitement, take a breath and think about it before commiting funds you may not receive.

In the time frame you have it is possible for you to do this weekly (and thus pay from your current pay). I needed to get mobile quickly to keep my job many eons ago. I started lessons the last week of Nov and passed 3rd Feb. I had a single 2hr lesson a week. I had a lot of motivation to pass quickly though (had to be at work 2 hours early due to getting lift and after work walking 5 miles to catch public transport for the further 8 miles home).
Inside this body lays one of a skinny woman
but I can usually shut her up with chocolate!

When I thank a post in a thread I've not posted in,
it means that I agree with that post and have nothing further to add.

These days those are acceptable reasons to stay on benefits.

Would £2000 cover it ? The course, the car, and insurance ? My son is 24 and has been driving since he was 18, he has the cheapest car to insure (peugeot 107) and still has to pay nearly £900 a year and he has 2 years no claims bonus ! Your insurance will probably be more than the car.
