GRIPE: Orange Pay As You Go - wot no balance?
Just switched from O2 pay as you go.
On O2: every time you send a message or make a call you get a text message that tells you how much credit you have left
On Orange: Nothing. You have to phone 453 and wait for a female robot to dictate how many minutes or texts you have left. Even if you go into Orange Plus - pay As You Go - show balance, it can take 2 mins for a text message to respond and, on average, 50% of the time this says "Sorry we were unable to obtain your remaining balance". And that text never tells you how many text messages you have left. You just don't know where you stand with Orange.
Is there anything I can do, it just a real useful function that O2 had an Orange does not. Anyone else experiencing this frustration?

Go back to o2 ..? This is not a function that has ever been offered on Orange that I am aware of, therefore I have never been frustrated by not having it available (though haven't been PAYG for a few years). Personally, it seems a little costly for o2 to be sending a text every time you send a text or make a call (and unnecessary - yes, I may want to know my balance, but don't need to know this after every call/text).

It's instant and really handy. As we have a contract and a pay as you go with orange, would not be viable to move just PAYG back. Unlimited free calls between the 2 handsets too valuable.0

Try living without the service. Seems like you just got used to it but might not really need it.
Have to agree with hambrook sounds like a service that would drive me insane. Surely you don't need an update after EVERY text and phone call.
If you like it..you like I suppose.
Not aware of orange having a similar service.I think my monitor's running out of ink....0
