Problem with Sky TV

I need some help with my sky tv, please.
I have tried searching threads but nothing comes up on Sky for some reason.
All day today it has not been working just keeps saying no satelite signal is being received.
I've unplugged it then re-tried it. I've cleaned the card. Checked the neighbours have a signal on theirs.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong.
Does anyone know the freephone sky no.
Also how do you know what your pin no. is.
Thank you.

Hi,
Check the aerial cable in the back of the box.
The problem sounds as if the LNB on the dish has packed up (£50 to replace)
The pin number is usually the last 4 digits on the viewing card.
The phone number is not a freephone number (the number you want will be in your package details or press the service button on the remote for a list of numbers)alternatively do a google for Sky.0 -
Hi.
Thanks Nobleck.
The ariel cable is in the box and seems ok.0 -
To eliminate the box, try connecting it around the neighbours. If it works round their house, then it would likely point to the LNB (unless you've had thunderstorms all day).0
-
Thanks I might try that tomorrow.
We've had no thunderstorms lately.0 -
No problem, i really don't think it would be anything else unless the aeriel cable has become damaged.0

Don't laugh, but have you checked you still have your dish up? many years back a similar thing happened to us,we called Sky,they came out and asked where the dish was,we laughed and said 'on the wall' to which he replied 'oh no it isn't!' someone had nicked it! so used to seeing the thing, didn't actually notice it had gone.
Your dish may also have come loose and moved slightly so you cannot pick up the satellite.Did you use the Sky when it was very stormy and windy? this can cause surges which damage the sky box.
Sorry,I know I'm not much help tonight.Debt at highest £102k

Thanks, any help is appreciated.
Dish is still there its in my garden. Its well protected from winds from walls each side.
The storms and winds haven't been that bad here.0 -
Just remembered that when i had a new carpet the aerial cable to the box was caught on the carpet gripper, resulting in a complete signal loss.0

I once lost the sky signal because some workmen had accidentally knocked the dish with a some ladders. Is it possible that the dish has been moved/misalligned?:A:A:A:A:A:A0

The signal came back on this morning but keeps getting stuck so I'm not sure what the problem is.
