Re-using vegetable/sunflower oil

I put it in a jug and let it stand in the cupboard for a few days, so the bits all settle at the bottom and I can slowly pour off the clean oil at the top. You'll have maybe a cm of dirty oil at the bottom to discard.

When it does wear out, it's best apparently to put it in an old bottle and throw it away in the bin. Pouring it down the drain clogs up the sewers and increases the amount of sewage escaping in to the environment before it passes through the sewage treatment plant. You might know this, or not, but it's surprising how many people still throw it away down the drain.
