BT Home hub connection knocks out house phones

Have just connected up my phone line to my phone and, via my newly delivered 'Home hub', with my PC.
Internet works fine but the two other house phones which spur off have gone dead. By unplugging them and plugging back in I can get them to work but the Home Hub then shows loss of internet.
I can't remember BT warning me about this kind of problem when I signed up. Can anyone help?

You are using the ADSL filter ?0

I also have issues with my broadband. Everytime I receive/make a phone call it knocks my broadband out for about 5 mins. I saw BT were working on the system on Sunday about 2 miles down the road and its only been happening since then. Was hoping they were upgrading the line but it appears to of been downgraded :huh:0

I had a problem with my BT Broadband it kept going down when I receieve or made a phone call. I kept phoning BT and they sent a engineer round after a while, and found a fault on the line.0

I just use one like this and have no probs with bt hub.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Thanks to all who replied.
I am using a BT supplied adsl filter with the main phone - it acts as a splitter between phone and internet.0 -

This is your best option, you then don't need the filters at all. It's also useful if you have a broad band fault to report as you can tell them that you are already plugged in to the main socket. At one point BT would supply it free, not sure if that's still the case.0 -

Thanks again for the answers. On a minor point, I take it that the Hub will distribute to wireless devices within the house, e.g. laptops, while it is connected by wire to my desktop PC..???0
