  • Previous poster is correct - they don't have to send you a copy of your original agreement - a reconstituted copy is sufficent.

and I thought it was just me that was sick of it, should call people like the op a troll not the actual trolls who wind peeps up
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

If a lender cannot produce a true signed executed copy of your signed agreement that is not my problem!!

I have had a loss in income and am struggling to make the minimum payments each month.

Its not my fault I find myself unemployed and on benefits its a horrid situation for myself and other people who cant make ends meet.

I was happy to pay my debts until I lost my job.

I just hope that the Financial Ombudsman Service

can help sort these lenders out.

And its not mu problem your having a hard time paying your bills..... wait it is. As the more of you who look for "get out of jail free cards" the more us honest hard working folks have to pay as they up rates trying claw back what they have lost as a result of people overspending and not managing their finances well.
If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...

Our finances are completely separate i.e. no joint bank account etc etc.

If you both live at the same address and are on the electoral roll then you are financially linked to your partner. Any lender will automatically take both yours and your partners credit file information into account when making a decision. Your partner will be adversely affected by YOUR actions.

Sorry meer53, that isn't true. You are only financially linked IF you hold any financial products- mortgage, bank accounts etc. living at the same address and being on the electoral doesn't link you together, if that was the case you could be linked to your mum, dad, sister, lodger and on and on :)

Who cares? It's your debt, and your responsibility to pay it back. Changes in circumstances do happen; contact your lender and try to work out a payment plan instead of spending hours scheming ways to avoid paying when that time could be put to better use like finding a job!

  • No that is not true you are only financially links if you make a joint application!!

I didnt ask to become unemployed by the way and I think the attitude towards people on benefitsd is disgusting.

And by the way as for the cheeky comment about internet access he pay for it not me.

I though this forum was for help and advice not to be put down and be rude to!!

Shame on those who have been nasty.
  • The problem you have seems to stem from your not accepting that you do in fact have a large amount of debt that you are unable to pay back. It's the fault of those nasty evil banks for allowing to spend that money. So you come here asking for advice on how to get out of paying for stuff that you bought.

You've been told repeatedly that several test cases have demonstrated that you will either have to pay back that money, or apply for some sort of debt relief, be that bankruptcy or deriitive there of. At the very least that debt will continue to appear (perfectly legitimately) for several years. An alternative has been suggested that you contact your creditors to come to some other arrangement amenable to both parties. That solution also does not appear to appeal to you. Your sole acceptable solution is for the money you spent to magically be whisked away by the fairies. Sorry but that's just not going to happen. Either you repay the money (via smaller payments arranged with your creditors), or you default. Those are your two options. Pick one and suck it up.
  • if I need anything my partner gets if for me then I pay him back for it saves going into more debt!!

Er... no. You are still creating debt.
