Mayber the guy who sold it to you was similarly conned when he bought it, and is merely selling it on again because he is unable to unblock it himself.0

Anyway, a quick update: the seller has agreed to refund me - albeit out of fear of his 100% positive feedback being tarnished than any concern that he'd sold me a blocked phone - but the fact that I won't have to go through eBay or PayPal's dispute system is excellent and a great weight off my mind.0
