  • £37 in Tescos (including 3 bottles of wine, one of which is for a present) and shopping is almost done for a couple of weeks now. Just got to get some veg on Thursday or Friday. Also spent 75p on an emergency icecream and £5.70 on breakfast in Morrisons, not terribly frugal but not exactly living it up!

It's Zero Waste Week which is proving really interesting, I didn't know I could recycle most of the plastic we get in the house and it's a good game trying to get the stuff thrown in the bin down to nothing. http://myzerowaste.com/zero-waste-week-2012/
  • I am another back with tail between my legs :-(
I'm just plodding along.... trying to be frugal which I'm good at with regards to food and most bills, but with me being single.... I was getting out a bit, I don't know how, scrapping money together and luck of people actua wanting to take my son overnight! It has calmed down again,
The ex and i went to a wedding together, it was a beautiful, brilliant wedding. We stayed overnight in the hotel, the room was absolutely stunning! I spent a total of £12 all night . He bought all the drinks and paid for the room.
We also spent all night talking, and cleared up a lot of stuff. He wants us to get back together, I'm unsure. I would love to get back with him, but it looks like some of our issues will still be issues, my son was extremely upset when we ended, so his feelings are my major issue.... we are taking things slow., well that was the plan, but he is acting like we are back where we were. Calls giving me all his work hassles, not planning anything with me, im not much better... I'm planning on addressing this next week, when my parents are home and can take my son one night, so we can go talk just us two.

Son is doing Fab at school. The school on the other hand, is very unapproachable. It is a brand new school, very lovely, bright, lots of natural light via port holes and skylights. The classrooms are big, and bright, they have their own toilets between two class rooms. The downfall is the outside play areas are very small, not enough car parking for the teachers, no designated drop off points for parents, and the canteen. It is tiny! They are using the stage and the gym to seat the kids, but they do not have enough tables and chairs to sit them!! I had heard a few parents grumble that their child was asked to hurry up and go out to play so others could get in to eat, to the point that the children are not finishing their food. I sent son in with a packed lunch yesterday (bagel with cheese n ham, sliced cucumbers, silicon cupcake cases, one with a small handful of blueberries and the other with some dry Cheerios, a small yogurt and a carton of milkshake - if u want to see it, its on my blog that I barely ever update grrr) anyways, I pick him up and opened his lunch bag to fix it as it wasn't closing right. I see that only half a bagel is missing, nothing else has been touched, I asked what happened to eating his lunch and he said he didn't have time, he was told it was time to go! Rage is not the word to describe how I felt. I went to speak to his teacher and she tried to brush me off with she doesn't have time today. I asked him what he wanted for lunch today and he actually said to me, just a sandwich coz I might get to eat them all up!
I'm going to see how it goes today then speak, again, to the head teacher.

Last thing about me. Nearly died last Thursday. Took a severe reaction to cheese. Throat swollen, high temp, very weak, limp body... good thing about it is that I have finally been referred to allergy specialist!

Sandra its great to hear that things are improving for you, such a shame about your friendships.

Tumpty- great to see u back here! (Although I do see you abt via ur Facebook page)

Oh, pinterest now has an android app, I now have a new addiction! Seriously, I have lost hours n hours on it!

  • Blimey Lola. Glad you're ok after the allergic reaction. I bet you were frightened!
Hope the school work out the lunchtime issues. Not good for anyone to be rushing lunch especially young ones.
Sounds like your keen to get back on track with your ex so hope you get the chance to sort out your issues. Usually good to get things out in the open.

Getting used to getting up again in the mornings after the six week break. Wish I'd appreciated those lie ins a bit more! Enjoying relaxing in the evenings though. Happy to be plodding on :)

Not been very frugal with small furries :(

Milo wasn't putting weight on his back leg on wednesday. Fearing paralysis rushed him to the PDSA who got their wires completely crossed...Paid £5...came home with rattie in pain (having been prodded and poked)...no pain relief.

Spent the night surfing online trying to get him out of pain and a solution. Took him to a private vet (the closest) yesterday and got him put to sleep after a night of us both not sleeping and him grinding his teeth all agitated (not purring with contentment) and no better. They said it was possibly a tumour on his nerve as he wasn't young and like he'd been slowly going downhill for a while. Just rapid the final day or so.

Pics on my blog...he was an amazing rattie and like the first pet I had as an adult. Bob (his cagemate) have been saved by classic fm though I'm still tired with the emotion.

Have been bad and ordered Bob a flying saucer off amazon (exercise wheel) as he's eating so much he's going to be a very fat rattie in not very long...
