Had a busy but frugal weekend doing family stuff and listing on the dreaded fleabay. Think my brain turned to mush - how about you Dizzy? Its mind numbingly boring isn't it but its got to be done so I just will have to keep on going. Still de cluttering and wish I had more sales for my 'treasured possessions' lol.
Certainly feels good though when I see another box/shelf emptied - gices herself little pat on the back.
Have a good and frugal day everyone - ((hugs)) to those who need one.

It wasn't too bad as I only had to relist and add a couple more, still boring though :)
It really is a good feeling though getting things decluttered isn't it?

Thank you for all the lovely comments re little mousey. I took him into school today and he was fussed over by the children :)
Feeling a bit fed up today to be honest. You know when you can't be bothered to do anything but you don't want to just sit doing nothing, so you do nothing? Well I feel like that
    An early night might help.
    Hope everyone is ok

dizzy - Mousy is awesome, a little cutie. :D We all have days where we don't want to do anything, some of us more than others ;) hope you feel a bit more yourself. I've embraced the au natural look too and have been growing out my colour, I've been doing it for some time (since October-ish) and each time I go to the hairdressers I think the last of it is going to be cut off, I think I've got about a centimetre left so maybe next time. I've never considered myself a Baby Boomer before but as I'm not too far off fifty and I'm growing my silver in (?) then I must be.:)

tylersbabe - I love Whitby, shame the weather wasn't too good, but it's still an awesome place to visit. A visit to Botham's and the kipper bloke are always on our list of stuff to do when we manage to get there.

Hope you have a good day Dizzy today - maybe you drained yourself a bit as you put so much effort into the mouse. Hope you are enjoying having accomplished making him and basking in the nice comments. You should be :T:T:T

I too love Whitby - I love being out and about in the bracing air that you get up there and love ending up in a nice pub for a seafood type of lunch. Heavenly.

Hope evryone has a good frugal day - hoping it will be a nsd as went a bit mad whilst out yesterday and treated everyone to an ice cream. Think the sun went to my head lol:D:D

Kerfuffle Yay to going au natural  I can't wait to get to the stage that you're at! At the moment I can get away with the 'silver' roots as I'm clipping my fringe up and leaving the rest down in a long bob so it looks ok and the fringe I'm clipping up is silver so it looks quite 'funky' :D
Had a better day today thanks Kerfuffle Thrifty and Slowly.
I think I must get overtired. I need to take myself off to bed earlier.
Going to have a mad hot bath later and zonk out :D
Ooh it's been so good to see the sun out. Wonder if we'll actually have a decent Summer this year?
    Have a lovely evening everyone

    Good morning everyone:hello:

Its absolutely glorious here today. I am sure I am solar powered because I feel like I have so much more energy today so I aim to finish the ( ginormous:eek:) ironing pile that I have been ignoring and then am going to make a start on my tip of a bedroom.
I already have a packet of mince simmering in the SC and will make that into cottage pie (one for tea and the other for the freezer) this afternoon.
Its payday tomorrow so I have transferred a chunk of money into my ISA. I did a big shop last week so mean to top that up with veg and bread as long as possible before I do another one.
One of my targets is to improve my credit status (which isn't good with the BR and the fact that I have always tended to have a card on OHs accounts instead of my own) so I finally applied for a credit card at the weekend and have been accepted (when it arrives it will be spent on only occasionally and cleared immedietely) Personally I think it is pathetic that you have to have credit to prove that you are sensible with money, it would be a lot easier if you had to convince a person that you can manage your money by showing savings etc than attempting to get past a computer that lumps everyone in together. But anyway enough of my rants.
I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely weather.
    Have a good day
    Cuddles:)

Congratulations SF on the new job!
Dizzy, your Molly makes mouse is marvelous!

Strange thing happened yesterday, a stray cat snuck in my house and stayed the night. I *think* its out today... I was up at 5 to open the back door and let it out, clean up its *present* it left for me at the door. I think its recently lost, has no collar, fur is a bit scruffy looking, but looks well fed.I got all excited thinking it was malleycat, but it wasn't the same colour :-(

I cheated with a present for one of the nurseries. I bought cupcakes from the shops, bought a plastic basket, lined it with grease proof paper, filled with said cupcakes, made pink vanilla icing and Viola - a cheap present for a bunch of staff (think their are around 10 members plus students) cost me abt £4 would have only saved me abt a pound if i had made them myself.

Due to the stray cat, I couldn't do the other nurseries present as paints where in with the stray, and i didn't want to frighten it any more than it already was. So plan for tonight is to get the paints out, paint on some black plastic plant pots, add florist foam, cover with moss, add Lollies that i have added 'petal's" to. They look like roses, find a nice inspiring quote abt teachers blooms flourishing etc and they should look good. (Son to paint, not me lol) this nursery has 2 staff, 1 who has missed all year, back these past couple of weeks after surviving cancer, and 2 support staff (all for 9 kids) . Plant pots cost abt £2 for 12! Moss was £1 for a bag, Lollies a pound a bag, so roughly £3 for 5 people - not bad if i say so myself :-)

Update on the twins - they are both home! I now need to get a move on with my nappy cake for them, I have 2 blankets, 2 knitted cardigans, load of nappies, got to make 2 wee hats and mittens to go with them.

My sister is due on Monday (already!!!) Nearly finished a girly ripple blanket - hope she has a girl, this has taken me ages to do, when it really shouldn't!

  • Hi All
Congratulations on the new job SF. Dizzy Lizzie your mouse is fab.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the thread folks. I haven't really been keeping up with my frugal annual budget either - somehow I can't get my head around it and prefer to work monthly. May have another look at it later.
