I am so excited over a win over a big company. I just asked them to check the transcript of the phone call. And it worked. Alas all that will happen is that the money goes to pay off the bill DS ran up on the mobile his stepdad lent him!
But at least I dont need to find the money now.:D And DS will still owe it back to me.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Well spotted Mooloo :T Makes you wonder though how many people have had that happen to them and just paid up!

Slowly what odd weather we're having. I walked to the sandwich shop at lunchtime and it was glorious sunshiney weather. By the time I'd walked back, ten minutes, it was dull and drizzling!

Wasn't in work yesterday as poorly with really aching joints, migraine and nausea! Went in today but felt really spaced out and still achy :(
On a frugal note I'm doing quite well. Trying to be mindful of what/when/if I spend any money. I never really liked supermarket shopping that much but now I positively hate it and spend the time I have to go in there in a right grim mood. I must take the time to try shopping online. One day I will...
Our Year 1 day trip out to the beach tomorrow. I'm hoping for a dry day but chances are it will rain. Ah well, what can you do?
Ooh whilst I remember, when I was in Mr As the other day, the woman in front of me had bought a book called '50 shades of grey?' Anyway she said she wanted to read it to see what all the hype was about.
So today after work I popped into the library and asked about it. Hhhhhm doesn't sound like my cup of tea
I like a gentle country mystery, like good old Agatha Raisin or a Ruth Rendell. So I just ordered the new Simon Brett Fethering Mysteries instead when it's due out and picked up another MC Beaton book.
Hope all is well in Frugaldom with everyone

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

Really badly written book. Being a book lover, who reads all and any genre, I'm notcing a trend for new 'authors' to be, rather, erm, rubbish. I blame big brother, x factor and blogs.
Although must say, a good screen writer and the films should be good (mainstream !!!!!!, whatever next!)

She is still petrified, I go close to her, but I see he physically shake, so haven't been able to get her to the vet. I noticed in the local paper someone has put up a reward for a cat similar to her, I'm going to ask them for some pictures to see if it is her, but I'm unsure what I would do if it is her (have told son that she might need to go back where she was - his response was -its not fair, she was ours first and she has come home - how do I argue with that lol) . She did
venture outside today, and came back in on her own.

Tonight I made, and I'm supper proud of it all :-) , home made honey and mustard pork rib steaks, salad with a lemon n garlic dressing. Boyfriend was even impressed, which is very hard to do when it involves food.

  • Morning All.
Sandra: if you are still reading the thread, sending you hugs this morning. So sorry to hear your news.

After much deliberation folks, I have decided not to renew my gym membership this year. I really need to get back into focussing on being more frugal if I am going to reach my savings target on SFs 'Save 12k in 2012' challenge. I have been very slack on the money front recently and especially last month. Strangely I felt in a bit of a guddle last month and also felt I deserved to spurge a bit after paying off the mortgage but I really need to get back on track now.

Once of the big issues is that I am self employed and have not taken a wage from the business as it is still growing. I have ploughed my earnings into doing more courses to have more things to offer to attract more clients (I do massage therapy and various complementary therapies). This has to change now and I have taken a small wage of £150 this month. In the coming months I aim to take a wee bit more and maybe also increase my pension contribitions. I have a meeting on Tuesday of next week about provding Sports Therapy to the local Junior football team so hopefully that will work out well.

Need to go and get myself organised now - still in my PJs. Foggy and wet outside so I am in a CBA mood. Off for a shower in the hope it will wke my up a bit!. Have a great day everyone.

Don't be sorry about this - we all have times when money seems to escape left right and center, that's what happens sometimes! Come back and join us on the wagon, it's fun up here :D
