I managed to save my NSD by using the emergency fuel can that's been languishing in the garage for a while :rotfl:- time it was used!
I find it really handy as fuel stations are 18 mile round trip - I quite often get to a couple of days before I'm going to one of the towns & really start needing some and it's such a waste having to go just to fill up IYKWIMGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I have days when I go into over-munch mode, I'm really super-hungry and have to direct myself towards fruit (but not too much) and away from bread, as carbs overload means my tummy can't cope.
Then other days I think 'Food? What's that?' and go in to gnat eating mode.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Morning all (just) - didn't get time to have a lookie yesterday as soooo busy but wanted to say hello  to evryone.
Well done all the healthy/wannabe healthy eaters. DL think you are right about the potatoes but was secretly hoping that my homemade chips might be ok as I left the skins on:(
Yes, I have been really tired ut thought it was just me being a bit wimpy. You could well be right about the sun - its been the most unsummer like summer I can rememeber. Don't think I've ever had to have the heating on in June.
Yesterdays attempt at trying to eat healthily went a bit awry.:o
B- toast with marmalde & a banana (downhill after this)
L - pasta, olives, garlic bread & biscuits - oops
EM - pizza scoffed on way back from supermarket (YS reduced to 30p so at least it was a little bit frugal) delish it was too, pckt wotsits scoffed while putting shopping away, glass of wine drunk with the wotsits, large portion ys mashed carrot & swede, cheese quiche, hm oven chips, followed by large portion ys prepared fruit topped with ys yoghurt.

As you know I've been making a little mouse from the Mollie Makes magazine. I could have easily given up on this a hundred times, no exaggeration
but I was determined to see it to the bitter end. Now last night I got mouseys little head on, made his shirt and waistcoat and embarked on his little pair of shorts. But no matter which way I read it I could not understand one bit on how to sew up his shorts. It didn't help that the phrase 'cut on the fold ' was mystifying to me. Anyway I turned to trusty y*utube and watched 3 dolls trouser tutorials but just couldn't get it. I looked at the material I'd cut out and thought, no way is that bit of material going to fold into that! So I fashioned little mousey a pair of shorts the best I could and they looked like drainpipes on him. OH came home from work and I thought with his mathematical engineering precision he might just be able to work out the pattern and what I was doing wrong...and he did. Cut on the fold does not mean literally cut on the fold, and poor mouseys shorts were like drainpipes because the material I'd cut out was only for one leg! So I'm actually looking forward to making his little shorts now. I need an idiot proof guide to sewing
I do feel like I've achieved something, albeit something minor.
Hope everyone is managing to stay dry. What a day!

ps. Healthy eating plan went down the swanny last night as I made a syrup sponge pudding. I blame the weather
