Soooo, just done my totals for Feb and I was £110.05 over budget for the month. I made a lot of money using cashback sites to play bingo so had allowed myself a couple of treats, which explains some of it. Mostly I've just been a little unfocused for a week or two so have spent a lot on lunches, rather than making them at home.

I'm not to unhappy overall though ;)

    Hope everyone's okay

Hello everyone, tis a bit quiet on here today is everyone enjoying the sunshine? I am feeling rather tired today and a little fed up but never mind. My son had to go into school dressed up for bookday today so I made him a sponge bob outfit yesterday out of some old material it was quite good for a rush job!

Not much else to report, just transferred £440 out of paypal from ebay sales so happy with that. Business a little quiet this week. Got a funeral on Saturday for a friend's dad, they are making him a recycled coffin and we all get to write messages on the top and they are asknig everyone to bring a single flower and a cake for afterwards. Although it's a funeral I think it will be of a celebration of his life.

Going to turn the computer off now and hopefully have a quiet evening x

You could ring a local gas engineer who offers boiler plans and ask for a quote for boiler insurance, see if they can help you sort it out. No need to go with them, but they might give you an idea of what is involved. Also you might need to have your boilers checked and serviced, and you could find out more then.

thanks - never had central heating before.may have to wait for next month to budget for that.
Frugal living challenge - need to revisit its been.a while !! Need to reduce our debts!!

need advice on boilers and boiler insurance!!

had a few friends have thier go wrong some with nad some without insurance - no way we could afford 2k if it went wrong but also i dont actually know what type of oiler system we have - i cnat find a thermostat anyway.the house was MOD own previously and hasnt been updated so chances are its very old and likely to go wrong and only thing i know is that i have two boilers behind my fire - but i have no idea what that means!!

Also want to attempt a veggie patch again!! but again i have no idea where to start!
didnt do too well last year though - ended up with a handful of potatos and tiny onions and about 5 strawberries!!!

You did better than me - two tomatoes and maybe three or four strawberries.

I'm not sure you can get insurance on boilers over 12 years old. If anyone knows a firm who insures older OIL fired boilers I'd love to know! Is yours oil or gas fired or solid fuel?
