You're welcome Jayne. Looks like we know what we'll be doing later
Enjoy your evening seriouslyfrugal
Popped into work today to pick up this book from our Bookman that pops into work. For £5 it's fantastic. Going to knit the little teddy from it today. It looks just like the one from Mr Bean but the pattern looks so easy. The patterns and projects are really aimed at younger children but as I'm not really a knitter, I crochet more, I think they'll be just perfect for me
I sorted out my wool stash last night and I've got lots of scraps of wool I can use for the little projects in the book.
Was quite interesting sorting out my wool. For some reason I had lots of different shades of blue and quite a lot of yellow. Mmmmmm strange. So the frugal side of this post is, I've already got the wool in and the book was very cheap
Happy Friday everyone

What a lovely book Dizzy - the cupcakes on the front cover look gorgeous. I am also a knitter (not so good on crochet) and could be tempted as I too have some wool oddments.0 -
Seriouslyfrugal - could you explain cea card please. My brother gets DLA and I wondered if it might be of use to him.:beer:0

Hi Thrifty. I'm really pleased I bought it. In fact I'm quite excited to get my needles out
There are some fabulous projects like 'comfy cushions' out of childrens t shirts. Transforming gloves and bobble hats into cuddly creatures. Hanging padded shapes and Patchwork toy quilt. Bean bag toys. Other knitted toys.
Just very sweet simplistic little crafts.

They sound lovely Dizzy - don't forget to show us your creations when they are ready x0 -
Took my dog to have his dressing changed - another £30! But, that's life, which is why we don't have terrible worries, like meetings with accountants about our surplus millions, and having to put spare money in tax havens!;)
In fact, DH and I have had our letters about our April pension increases, and they're very encouraging which is more than can be said for the interest we get on our Rainy Day money!
I've got 3 casseroles bubbling away nicely at the moment, a beef, a chicken and a lamb, so that's the next 3 days' meals sorted. We're staying inside for the next few days, but I hope everyone has a warm and frugal weekend.

the cea card cost £5.50 per year and he will need a photo too but you get the cost back with one visit I will give you an example using costs from my cinema
cea card costs £5.50 & 1 adult @ £8.75 = £ 14.25 ( you only pay for one adult the other goes free ) - this would be for the first visit & you must have the card to present at the cinema
normally 2 adults would be 2x £8.75 =£ 17.50
any visits after the first your brother would pay £ 8.75 ( one adult ) so a real saving I have given you the link so you can get the application form
hope this helps - after all every bit helps right nowEmma :hello:0 -

I had that too, but I still have huuuuge amounts of food squirrelled away in just about every possible storage place in the house, so I've refused to actually visit the site for the last 6 months - always ended up with two or three huuuuuge boxes full of stuff when I placed an orderCheryl0
