Hope doggie is ok now Sandra.
Rising hope the MRI isn't too bad.
Quintwins hope your family feel better soon.
Silvasava your daughter will love the photos I'm sure.
I did an album for each of mine - it was their favourite thing! Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Hi Huys,
Havin a really frugal week, it started badly with our fridge/freezer breaking down so off to C*rry's we went to buy a new one. We decided on one costing £499 in the sale.
I decided to note down the model number and see if we could get a better deal online (learning from all you masters on here).
Having used K*LKO to check out deals we found it for £354 at the CO-*P electrical store online.
We then remebered that we had £51 of vouchers that we could use and then I remebered to go back and use a cashback website. So in total a fridge/freezer that was on offer in the shop for £499 we bought online for £294 an unbelieveable saving. Plus ordered on Monday eveninga and was delivered at 7.45am today bang on time with no delivery charge. FANTASTIC.....:jNSD 12, SAVING ALL MY CHANGE FOR HOLIDAY SPENDS - SO FAR £23.96:j0 -

(((hugs))) Sandra, as you say, it's never just one thing ..... hope your wee boy is feeling a bit better now ....
Off for an MRI scan tomorrow (dreading it .... I'm claustrophonic  and the least said about it the better) - so will have to be a spendy day - car journey & parking, train journey & then a bus to get to the hosp. Pretty much wishing the day away:o[/QUOTE]
He's a bit down in the dumps, and limping, but perks up every time I mention food!Thank you all for your good wishes. I hope your scan goes smoothly, and perhaps you can give yourself a treat when you get back, like a bubble bath, or a bar of chocolate - or both.:D
Debbiedeejay - well done on your shelves and your painting!
Rae, and others - a pain-free way to save!
The person with the grotty caddy- it's amazing how chuffed we feel when we can achieve something-for-nothing. I laid the b*ggered blind out on the floor, sprayed some WD40 on the top bit, and managed to free the mechanism. Then I gave it a wipe over, and it's now hanging up and working again. :j
Massive congratulations :T to all new Frugalista Sisters who have almost completed 40 days, and nights, in Frugaldom. It's damned hard changing your normal spending/shopping/cooking ways, and you're more than 10% through 2012.:j
Hope everyone is well, and managing to stay snuggly warm.

Please may I join in? I'm becoming very frugal this year. I've been eating beans on toast at work everyday, started a stockpile, started an allotment, and am just starting to use bicarb & lemon juice to wash my hair. So here's to being more frugal
Will have a proper catch up when I get home from work, 46 pages on the highest setting for posts per page is going to take me some time

Hi everyone, thanks for all the good wishes .... unfortunately, it didn't go well:(. It was one of the sealed unit scanners and I just couldn't stay in it .... pretty awful experience tbh and now have to be referred back to the hosp with the open ended scanner (don't know why they didn't send me there in the 1st place as I had one there the last time & the Dr knows I'm claustrophobic:mad:).
So ..... £12 in fuel, parking, train & bus fares down the drain .... totally exhausted & have a thumping headache so just a quick visit to catch up on threads & I'll be heading back to bed (where I've been since I got home at lunchtime).
Will catch up with all your posts tomorrow - hope all is well:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Think I'll have a little nod. Didn't get much sleep last night and still feel a bit whoozy. Catch everyone later hopefully.

We took aout a new CC with a no interest on purchases for 15 months (thanks Martin) Just had our first statement & some !!!!!! has used MY card number to buy £250 of sweets & £130 of gifts. The card security guy was great & they're sending me a new card. What really p's me off is I am so careful online - just proves it can happen to anyone & make sure you really check your statements.
On another note its DGD's 18th birthday in a couple of weeks - was a bit stumped for a pressy - I know cash always works but I wanted to give her something to keep. My local print shop are doing a montage of photos on an A3 sheet for £10.00 - its can take upto 40 photos so I've been trawling through all her baby & toddler photos upto when she was a bridesmaid last year & I'll get them printed for her. I found some really good ones - putting lipstick on Grandad when she was about 2 1/2, egg & spoon race at 5 etc. It gave me a good time too with lots of lovely memories so hope she'll enjoy it.Living Simply, not simply living.Weight Loss - 5b/55lb
