  • Hi
I noticed in the news centre on here that petrol prices are likely to rise

personally I always try and combine journeys to do several things at once & drive more carefully although the way some people drive you wouldn't know it as they drive like a maniac and then complain about how much petrol they get through

Sandra : you have inspired me to do more complaining after your waitrose experiance & tanks for the ceo link

I hope everyone is ok & welcome to anyone new

have a good frugal weekend everyone
    Emma :hello:

Sandra - you really do have an excellent way with words...fancy writing my coursework for me :p...I have done all the notes, they just need fluffing out into readable paragraphs ;)
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment

I won't do the lot , but if ever you're stuck, PM me, and I'll always give you a hand. :) Glad so many of you are going to take up the challenge and complain if necessary. I had a great bit of luck this morning. :T As I emerged from Sainsbury's today, with my Cravendale milk, with 50p coupon, I espied one of those "price pledge" receipts, lying on the floor. If you could have bought your branded goods for less, Mr S gives you a voucher for the difference.

And this one was for £5.32!!!! But it gets even better :j cos I joined Andrex Puppy Points scheme, and they are giving double points until the something of February. I had recently bought several 9-packs, because they were on special offer, and I always get these delivered, when I get a discount code from one of the supermarkets, as they are so bulky.

Well I painstakingly cut my black code slips out, and read the reverse (with the aid of my glasses and a magnifying mirror) and I had enough for a 5 x DVD pack! :T

Unselfishly, I've selected the Manly pack for DH. :D And all for 10 minutes work. I've had a good week - DD seems on the mend, and DH isn't any worse, and I'm off to see Midnight Tango tomorrow, very cheap tickets, no fares and a 2 for 1 lunch. :)

Have a wonderful and frugal weekend everyone, and by tomorrow afternoon, we'll be two thirds through January.

    xx

Bad news regarding my puppy. He has hip dysplasia in both hips, on painkillers and supplements, told he can't play ball or have excessive exercise (he's a collie), seems alright in himself. I'm so glad I got insurance as this is a lifetime condition.

Bless him wornoutmum. Really sorry to hear this. Hopefully with the treatment he'll still be able to enjoy life.
Patentgirl great idea for the scarf. Thanks.
purple great buys and the hamper sounds 100% better than those ready made up shop bought ones. Well done.
Sandra really pleased that things seem to be on the up for you. About time too! Enjoy your weekend.
Ruby how are things with your health now? Hope the throat got better.

I'm still a bit under the weather with mine but it is improving. Had a side effect from the two lots of antibiotics which has set me back but never mind.
I'm still being mindful with money and enjoying the challenge. I can't believe how I used to be so willy nilly with my spending!
OH had bought a baguette reduced to 10p the other day and half had been eaten. It was a bit rock hard and just as I was about to put it in the recycling tub I thought...bread and butter pudding! Managed to make two foil trays just by adding milk, one egg, raisins and spices. It's one of OHs favourite puddings.
Warm hugs to everyone on this drizzly wet day

Welcome, agreenmess, always nice to see new names appearing. I've added your name and hope you'll have fun being frugal. Good luck with the house savings. This is a link to my house savings challenge and if I can do it, anyone can. Hopefully, there might be something in there to help you remain focussed on achieving your main goal. It is very achievable. :)

Spending mainly on keeping warm at the moment, as it's still damp and miserable here. Disappointing to see mention of more petrol price increases. More alterations to spreadshet needed again soon at this rate.

Hope everyone is doing well and managing to get back on the wagon after any slight mishaps, spills or setbacks. Will catch up again soon.

Frugal day - just some potatoes, on offer toothpaste and deodorant purchased.

I thought I was having a minor op today but it transpires I will be having a general anaesthetic so instead I was poked, prodded, swapped, given a ECG and had blood taken.

Not sure to be relieved or disappointed it's not all over and done with.

Ooh Hi Dizzy that's funny I didn't see those last few posts!

Still not feeling great really but at the same time not really ill.

Haven't made it to swimming so that is an indicator that all is not well.

Girlie was diagnosed with asthma today too.

Hope you soon feel better - you haven't been right for a long time!

I am wondering if may be I should rephrase that!:rotfl::A

Hi Frugaldom - well just skimmed over your thread - scooted to the penultimate page (:o impatient me!) and am amazed and inspired! How is it going? I have subscribed to your thread and will read with interest - although not now as I am already in danger of a divorce from Mr DNMS due to the amount of time spent on here! I would love to do this but it will be baby steps for Mr DNMS - have to take things slowly with him!

thank you for sharing this x
