Have managed to put down all my outgoings so far for January.

Managed to get a better deal for my contents insurance, saved nearly £70. Sent off form to agree reduced life insurance so I will be £1.59 a month better and to start from March, so waiting for new documents to come.

Stocked up on teabags as there was a good deal in Mr. S. Going to try out some new recipes this month hopefully. Try and bake more cakes and scones. Just soaking the bran for a bran loaf.

My Mum and I have booked a day trip for July. Going to Clacton, which we like.

Hugs to those in need of them.

got a bargain today, have been looking for the e-clothes and found an offer of buy one get one free and when I looked through the racks a couple of packets had one additional cloth free so I got 4 clothes instead of 2! yay how happy am I!! Little things eh??

Also found a heart cookie cutter for 75p, if only I could find a doggie one cheap, alas it has eluded me for some time now.

Thought I was doing pretty good this month but OH informed me this pm that his motorbike is going to cost £250 for a new bit grrr... you think you are getting there then something bits you on the bum!

fortunately, I have saved the money for the tax and insurance for his dream machine phew.

    Hello everyone.

    A little bit spendy today

A coffee and a nata as I had a course which started at one and walked there so left around twelve which was too early for my lunch - didn't want to go food shopping hungry.

Got picky bits from the co op - lots of reduced stuff or offers for dinner tonight.

Anyway the good news - spoke to a lovely women in India today, got the calls taken off my phone bill and sorted out best package all very easily and pleasantly!

May be the chap last night was tired!

  • afternoon all hope everyone is ok

    ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

i am really impressed with myself today as i finally got my butt into town, have not been there for about 5 months now, (due to my illnesses).i walked home as well so must have done over a mile in total including all the walking i did in town as well.:j

also had some frugal buys, went to asda and got the free clover block and a free rumblers pot, asda wipes 49p, asda nappy bags 88p on packet, went through as 35p and a thick sliced loaf of hovis 50/50 for 55p.:)

then went to clintons and picked up 5 rolls of 5 metre xmas paper @ 37p each. really happy with this as i run out last year so there will be no chance of it happening again this year. still dont have xmas cards though, but am in town again next week so will have a look in wilko as i noticed they had loads of xmas stuff in there. bought a hair dye from there for £1, didnt have enough money to get the xmas cards today. hope they still there next week.:j

to finish off my mothers 60th pamper hamper i bought her a large bar of dairy milk turkish delight which i managed to get for £1 (in my local post office) and in tesco i got 4 options individual hot chocolates for £1. also managed to get her some slippers in the sale for £3.

have also paid another £50 off my debts, and i still have £2.70 left in my purse and i wont need anything now until the end of next week. now this is very rare for me lol.:j

You should be justly proud of yourself - brilliant! :T Your Mum is going to be thrilled with her hamper, (well I would be, if I was your Mum) and it's great that you've paid another £50 off your debts!

    Wonderful!

Wornoutmum sorry to hear about poor old puppy - bless him.

Ms Determined I made bread and butter pudding with bread from the freezer last night.

I was a bit worried as I accidentally toasted some bread instead of defrosting it but it turned out just fine.

  • :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: About a week ago I posted about the mess Mr Waitrose made, trying to credit me with £4.50 from my online shop, and that the Manager of the store put £25 back on my card.

Well, I received a letter today from Head Office, saying they were sorry I'd had such a dreadful experience, and enclosing John Lewis vouchers for £20!

I emailed them to say that I had to be honest, the Manager of the store had already credited my account with £25 and did they want to apologise profusely, and let me keep them, or should I destroy them, and of course they replied I should keep them! :T:T:T

I already had an introductory discount, as it was the first time I used them, so I've worked out my delivery cost nothing. :) Always, always complain, cos the worst thing they can say is "No".

  • Ooo, Miss EP, your cooking sounds yummylicious! I noticed that you've lost 3 lbs from your target of 56 lbs, so if you maintain a pound a week, then this time next year you'll be selling all your current stuff on ebay! Good Luck!

    xx

Thanks SandraScarlett you've really inspired me now. Am planning on going to Italy with new OH in August so really need to loose it!!! Hope you're doing well.

I haven't been on for a while (so busy) but am going to read the 4 or so pages and then I might report back again later. Missed you guys. x

No my boyfriend went to Uni I Aberdeen, rented a flat with 3 other guys, so they changed main tenancy every year to get around paying council tax. This was at least 10 years ago, so unsure if it is still in place..... m taking it from you 'is mise...' that you are Scottish?
