Reality TV.....

As Big Brother has drawn to a close, I told myself that I am NOT getting into another reality TV show, but I'm missing Towie, have started watching Shipwrecked, Signed by Katie Price, Young Apprentice, re-runs of the Biggest Loser, and am already loving I'm a Celeb......

It is totally worthless TV and yet I can't (or won't) stop watching these programmes. What is the fascination about other peoples lives? Please tell me I'm not the only one watching this rubbish!

  • I am addicted to the trash! Though tonight "Im a celeb" has missed out to a bit of Ross kemp!

I think I watch these stupid programs so I can smugly think "No matter how bad things may be some days, they will NEVER be that bad" ;)

I can't stand reality TV. But I also can't stand soaps. I prefer to watch fantasy when I watch TV, there's enough reality in everyday life without watching it when I'm relaxing.

I also hate the *celeb* culture that surrounds reality TV. All those nobodies who think they're special because they've been on a TV show. Pah!

I get mildly addicted to some of it, and avoid some of it like the plague (ie anything with Katie Price in it). Any time theres a celeb version of anything "reality" I am usually highly amused that I don't know who more than half of them are lol!!!

The irony is of course that there is absolutely nothing real about "reality tv"...So if I'm going to watch something made-up, I'd rather it be a proper film with talented actors and a an actual plot, not money-grabbing nobodies whose only claim to fame is to have a vaguely appealing body shape. Each to their own I say! :)

If they actually put "normal" people into shows like Big Brother, and presented them with realistic scenarios, then I could see the concept would have merit from the viewpoint of a psychological experiment. However, what they actually do is fill the house with attention-seeking losers, with barely a brain-cell between them to rub together. So no, I'm not interested.

  • Love the Apprentice and would love to see some of the candidates of the Young Apprentice in a couple of years time - they scare me already.

Cried with laughter at I'm a celebrity tonight.

Having said that I'm very conscious that the producers will try and manipulate the programme with editing
