  • No idea as when I look on the website it doesn't give me a code, the baliffs are Equita and there ius nothing on the letter apart from saying an unpaid penalty charge on there
  • This is what it says on the website if it helps Parked after the expiry of paid for time (pay & display)Parked after the expiry of paid for time (pay & display)Parked after the expiry of paid for time (pay & display)

  • Ok so no problem is parked when you ticket is expired. Ok so you now need to approach the Council and put to them your questions, I would write to the baliff asap and state you are dealing with the Council. They will not accept this but you will have informed them what you are doing. When you call the Council you may have a better chance just asking for the mentioned name because if you explain your case they will just direct you back to the baliff and say they cannot help, thats just their job.
If you find out and then PM me I can help you further, I say PM because this thread maybe right off the page and I may forget to check.

Remember you just want the info to start with, don't even explain yourself yet unless you are sure what is going to work, remember they record calls and will write everything into the case notes. So when you do explain why it needs to be the correct reason and it needs to add up with anything you may have said in the past.

  • Thanks so much for your help, I am just asking for the original paperwork then at this point?
  • Yes, also ask them for details of info you have sent in or details of calls that they have taken regarding the case. Also ask for any details or full or part payments. Also see if they still have CEO notes and photos, maybe even ask who is dealing with the PCN back office, Council or Contractor? When you speak to someone make sure it is the Council and not NSL.

Once you have the details make sure you check any account you may have made a payment to them from... if you pay your tickets promptly normally (or your husbands) it would seem strange to miss one... but firstly you need to make sure that a) they have the right car, b) that you haven't already paid.

DO make sure you check that the car they ticketed was really yours at the time... I've come across a couple of tickets where the ended up chasing the current owner of a car that had a ticket some time before it was sold and when they handed it over for some reason they decided to re-search the registration details... Goodness knows why!

  • Yes good point, I agree with that!
  • I know of a case where the wife hid six parking tickets from her husband!

The husband only found out when the bailffs arrived.

  • Now I am even worried! Lol.
  • Has your husband anything to say on the matter? I might be thick but if it was his car then the bailiff is actually after him and his possessions not you and yours?
