Have you checked to see if the papers are genuine?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • im new to this site and found thread through google search. im really panicking as ive just recieved letter before action from this company. i completed an online form with them last september and recieved a phone call from them a couple of weeks afterwards asking for sign up fee....i believed the service was free at time of sign up.....never recieved a welcome pack, never signed on the dotted line.....that call i told the guy i wasnt paying for the service and sorry if id wasted his time but i hadnt realised there was fee involved...he seemed fine on the phone and said no problem. Now almost eight months down the line i have a demand for £39.95, ive never recieved ANYTHING from them through post, email, telephone and its come completely out the blue. i dont want to ignore this and hope it goes away but at the same time why should i pay up?? Im looking for advice as to best course of action please.

Kyfra - I too need help and advice asap, I have until 27th April to pay £69.85 otherwise they taking me to court. The email doesnt seem to be genuine at all as it is from their recovery and collections address and email address. I havent received the letter in the post yet either which they stated in the email it would come by post aswell as email.
I have been ruthless and emailed all of the email addresses that I have for them back telling them to get shuffed they are not having my money for something that has been ruled in the ASA Adjudication process as being UPHELD in January 2012 for falsely misleading consumers into believing the website was a FREE service and deemed to be part of the TPS FREE service and implying they were government backed which they are certainly not. If the government heard of these conmen I am sure they would physically shut them down permenantly which is what I intend to do. Who is with me on this?

Can anyone confirm what TAPA's next move is likely to be?? i too have been asked to pay up before 27th or face court proceedings.....from reading through posts here and other website forums it appears they will just bombard me with further letters, emails, calls etc untill i buckle (i wont!)...i can cope with this but if i should seek legal advice now before a court summons appears then i will.....please advise. Has anyone been taken to county court (i am scotland, its small claims court here).
