Bt - yahoo email problems

This year I have required to phone BT on 3 occasions when my internet was down (i.e. phoning several thousand miles away from Britain where's the British in that?) In each case the problem was resolved. However last week my email was down completely. After the chappie took over my computer he was able to fix it, although I am not happy about my personal emails being read by someone who can do anything they like with them. This morning when I opened Windows Mail my Inbox filled up with hundreds of messages I had PERMANENTLY deleted. When I now receive mail I receive two identical mesages each time. I then went onto so-called Yahoo mail, the childish name speaks for itself. I printed out 5 pages of instructions and followed them to the letter to the last bit when it says verify - I verified, but nothing happened. Am I raging? Yes!! Why should "Yahoo" have copies of all my emails and what do they want with them? I don't want anything to do with "yahoo" American rubbish. I think I'll switch. Anybody had these probs? As I said I am hopping mad. ARGH!

So why don't you just sign up to a decent webmail service such as GMail, and set it up to download into Windows Mail?
PS: BT is not 'British' Telecom, and has not been since 1991.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
After another 40 minutes of my computer being controlled by a stranger I have my email working again normally - for now.
I wouldn't touch G mail with a long barge pole.
Madman, if the B in BT doesn't stand for British, what doe it stand for ?:(0 -
You use Yahoo but don't trust Gmail?
It stands for 'B'. Nothing more. It is not an acronym. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

British Telecommunications plc (registered in England no. 1800000)
Registered Offices 81 Newgate Street London EC1A 7AJ.
Who are we?
BT Group plc is the holding company for an integrated group of businesses that provides voice and data services in the UK and overseas.
British Telecommunications plc is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BT Group plc and holds virtually all businesses and assets of the BT group.
BT has four customer-focused lines of business: BT Global Services, BT Retail, BT Wholesale and Openreach. BT Retail, BT Wholesale and Openreach operate mainly within the UK, where BT is the largest communications services provider to the residential and business markets, supplying a wide range of communications products and services, including voice, data, internet and multimedia services, and offering a comprehensive range of managed and packaged communications solutions.
BT Global Services provides a range of products and services, including communications, networked IT and consultancy services to address the needs of major corporations, governments and multi-site global organisations. In April 2007, we announced a new structure, which includes two new business units; BT Design will be responsible for the design and development of the platforms, systems and processes which will support our services; BT Operate will be responsible for their deployment and operation.
When we refer to "we" or "our" or "BT" we are referring to BT Group plc (which includes British Telecommunications plc) and its subsidiaries, or any of them, as the context requires.
So the G in Gmail stands for 'G' does it?
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
