hi,my contract ends in a couple of months time so i,ve started to have a look round.i,ve seen two that have caught my eye.both are sony errikson.first one is the w850i model the other is the k750i.has anyone got one of these phones?what do you think of them?what draw backs do they have?do they play mp3 ringtones?all info greatfully recieved.

yes they all play mp3 tones.

if you like music, i would recommend the W850i with its walkman music player. also this hasn't got an autofocus camera like the k750. you get a 1gb memory card with the w850 and only 64mb with the k750.


if you want a good camera, go for the k750 as it has an active lens cover (this means that when you open the lens cover the camera mode starts up, and when you close it it shuts down the camera mode) and it has very good quality shots and is cheaper than the w850i. you get a smaller memory card with the k750 than with the w850

and also sony ericssons are very easy to use and very reliable

Gaming_guy did a pretty decent job at describing the two. I've had the K750i since last August and I've been very happy with it, apart from one thing. The joystick. It's either every now and then or like it for half a day or so, where the joystick dosn't want to move in a given direction. You'll want it to go down [or up] and it'll just sit there until you give up because your finger hurts too much.

If I had the choise of the two phones, K750 or W810 and the experiance of a K750, I'd still go for a K750. Even though the joystick can be annoying the W850 isn't an attractive phone IMO.

Like Gaming_guy already said you only get a 64MB stick with the K750 but [fake] 1GB Pro Duos are on eBay at 12.50 incl shipping and 22.50 incl shipping for the 2GB model (Sony High-Speed) and work just as well as the genuine cards.

EDIT: Just remembered, the Joystick is fine if you clean it out as soon as you start to feel that it dosn't work as well as it used to (undo the screws, pop it off and blow, or use a can of compressed air) and pop everything back togeather.

i have one now and i find it brilliant, and it also has 34mb internal memory compared to the w850i's small 16mb internal memory
