We went just before Christmas and stayed in The Hilton. It was superb and only a 10 min walk maximum to shops and "clock";) .0

My two favourites are the Marriott and Renaissance, which are across the street from each other. I've stayed twice at each and they're both really lovely and are in a great location, about 10 minutes or so from the Old Town Square. I've always scored a nice rate with them via Priceline but have booked into the Renaissance for when I get married in Prague in May using the 'conventional' method (i.e. directly via Marriott.com).This space has been intentionally left blank0

Crowne Plaza is a little out of town but very easy. MrSmartPrice mentions catching 119 bus from the airport - do it - it's only about 50p and runs on time. The Crowne Plaza is near where the 119 stops. From the CP you can go by tram no 8 (stops right outside the CP - station name Podbaba) to Namesty Republik (Republic Square) which is very near the Marriott and Renaissance mentioned above - they are also near the Duma department store. The tram is very cheap too, also runs on time (timetables on display) and runs pretty late (after midnight). You can save money by buying an inner town public transport ticket since you won't need to go the airport every day. As for restaurant - https://www.peklo.com is just brilliant - near the castle - take tram 2 from the centre.0
