just to let you know we returned last night from menorca stayed at the victoria playa hotel, flying from manchester with thompsonfly total cost for 3 was £470 for flights n half board it was fantastic for the kids, entertainment all day / night long inc kids clubs, the hotel is right on the beach and all the staff inc reception/ cleaners were great, good choice of food , drinks and snacks are expensive but used the local supermarket. thanks again

We are currently updating our cheap hotels article, and wanted to include a link to this thread, to let people know about the cheap Thomsons hotels.

I was hoping you could let me know a bit more about the deals... Are they late deals? Why does Thomsons offer them?

They are not always late deals .
the early and late parts of the year they offer hotels for as low as £1 per night (some half board for about £5-10 a night) all teh prices are per room and NOT each. Villas have been as low as £65 for the week for upto 6 people
IMO .....They seem to offer the hotels that they have full contracts for ( already paid the hoteliers for blocks of rooms orthe whole hotel) so they need to clear them at what they know are slow times. IE late April early May and October/November and December
Also a few "Young and Lively" apartments come up out of the club 18-30 season they sell them cheap to fill thembecause they know people wouldnt risk it for the normal price (such as the ones in Magaluff) but for £1 a night fo r afamily of 4 people will risk it
But saying that they do creep in for a lot of other dates as well

They also seem to offer these prices on new properties that
they hav took over and have not established themselves yet with the british

This thread was also intended on showing people that booking a Thomsons packages isnt always the best option even if its only a Thomsons exculsive hotel that they want.
If they look at the hotel then add flights and transfers they can save a nice tidy penny for exactly the same holiday ( example saving compared to booking package http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11471289&postcount=310)

Thes are only my opinions on why they doit I might be completely wrong...lol
